You need to upload video to a site such as "youtube" and put the put the linkto the video in your forum page post.
Do you need more help than that?

From what I saw, it STARTS just fine, but won't rev up.

Check: throttle cables are routed correctly, throttle slides are stuck, slide diaphragms aren't rotted.

worst part is that video was taken on sunday haven't touched the bike since til this afternoon and it started first go, had the revs, warmed it up til it'll idle on it's own, but it's happened before a few times just can't work out where the problem is

OK I listened to that and I thought that is sounds like it is not running on all cylinders. Sounds kinda "clunky" not smooth, even when it revs out. The only time it sounded good was when it was accelerating briskly.

Are your plugs good, valve clearances good and carbs all filling to the same level?

Have you checked that the choke mechanism is disengaging? You might be moving the lever but if you look at the carb end of the cable - make sure the choke mechanism or plunger moves the same amount. It does sound like its running too rich. Checked the mixture screws are three whole turns out?????

Good luck with it.

well had another go at the 250 today started like it did in the video but this time i turned the fuel off and kept it running til it died what it did do towards the end was pick up revs, did play with the choke but made no difference at all, so new needles and seats and a good thorough carb clean may be in order, so thats next weekend taken care of, hopefully i won't find any other dramas (but it's a yamaha)

well today thought i'd make a start on the bike want to see what parts i may need to order so off comes the carbies and start to pull them apart one pair at a time, no wonder the bike didn't want to run, didn't have new needles and seats yet but cleaned up the ones that were there the O rings were knackered had some spares laying around not quite the same thickness but same size, there was so much crud in the seats had to use some wet and dry to clean then even had to replace that too was so filthy, the o-rings were a bit on the perished side so that left rubber behind so plenty of air and carb cleaner and a bit of gentle scraping to remove that, the slides were a bit sticky but after a clean the moved freely again, checked the pilot jets, had to replace one-tip was missing (just lucky i have another set of carbs on hand)anyway got it all cleaned up put it all back together had to replace all the screws on the float bowls with hex head screws Arnie must have owned this bike b4 they were so tight had to use vice grips on some to undo, anyway bike back together started (with the help of start ya bastard) and took for a 10k run couldn't get up much speed hesitated a little in 2nd and 3rd gears trying to get revs up but may be due to the fact no exup in exhaust (still waiting for bushes to be made) but didn't run too bad, I'll leave it alone now til tomorrow afternoon and try and start it and see what happens, new needles and seats should arrive through the week so next weekend I'll be pulling it apart again
I couldn't find what the setting were for the pilot screws so I set them at 3 turns back from bottom must be close i hope and would have put some photos in but don't know how yet

Pilot screws are normally 3 turns out.. I think you said that's where set them on yours.

Posting photos is best done by uploading your pic on a picture hosting site ( like bikepics.com or photobucket.com ) and putting a link to your pic in your post..

Since you have had the carbs off, I hope you checked your fuel level. Most people omit this when the do their carbs, because without a jig to run fuel through the carbs (with carbs out of the bike) is a pain the ass. but fuel level has an affect on everything ... so even though your jets being clean your fuel screw being 3 turns out, the bike might still be running rich and will never give you the crisp pull you are looking for.

will be taking carbs off again when i replace needles and seats, that will be one thing i'll check, been making little notes of things to do when i do, hardest will be synchronising carbs just don't have the gear for that at the moment, but am still waiting for my exup valve bushes to be made, once they are done i can do the carbs

options

-I have a synchroniser. At Greenbank, you are welcome to borrow- but long as you understand I will hunt you down if it doesnt return. I would offer to do it for you but i simply dont have time at present. We hold regular garage days- working on each others bikes where we do that sort of work as well. Next one isnt organised, it will be least a month away.

-Mick's bike and car tyres, brendale are the closest I can recommend you to go see- their prices are good, specially if you are heading in for just a carb sync. Mick and Mark are top guys and willing to go the extra mile. Might be worthwhile as they will be able to help diagnose any further issues. http://www.mbct.com.au/ or mark- 0407 019 015.

Best of luck!
