battery

    hi people i was just wondering if anybody would be able to help me with a problem im having. i charge my battery up all day, lock my bike up go to the bike the next morning and my battery is dead there is nothing happening with the battery. its a brand new battery also when the battery is off the bike it holds its charge. any ideas?

    If the battery holds its charge when off the bike but goes flat overnight when connected, then you have a short in the wiring. Something isn't turning off, and is draining the battery. Are you turning the keyswitch to OFF, or PARK? This turns the taillight bulbs on, and leaves them on.

    A faulty rectifier/regulator can drain the battery too. They are wired direct to the battery. They can be unplugged from the wiring loom.

    The only other electrical bit that could cause a problem is the starter relay, but I have not heard of one causing a problem.
