I meant 08. The welding involves fabricating a small lug with a thread in it and welding it to the frame. That is not a particularly big job. Also required are set back brackets for each side and a complete new gearside forward control unit, and new shift rod. Cost for the bits is about $250.
well well well, what a small world Mr Hunter.! I just been talking wiv my mate, and not only is he my mate, he is your mate too apparantly.... Do you know Dale W-ight? Has a brother John. Price is fine for parts, its a matter of getting someone to do this properly as i obviously couldnt do it lol , could u recommend someone who does this type of thing or?
hi, i am sure i will be out and about all the time in summer, will have to meet up one day and go for a ride.
Yep, am mates with Dale, spoke with him this morning, he'll suss out how to get it done. Also the dual seat sits you a little farther forward too, might be worth trying that before we do anything savage.
where there is a will there is always a way. ingenuity wins.can the pedals be reversed?what about hand controls?
Unbelievable , i was talking wiv dale early this morning, and he kept saying i will ask my mate ....and i said yeah i been talking to this man i met in a forum and said your name, and he was like OMG thats the bloke, thats my mate lol. Ok i will get that dual seat as soon as i have time, im pretty flat tack wiv work this week , been working 7 days a week for 2 weeks now, it sux balls, but oh well, if ya want nice things gotta do it hey. Will get this other seat on and see whats happens. cheers
I have not seen one of the Hunters close up for a while but would imagine that it would involve cutting of the existing brackets and rewelding them closer to the seat, then shorten the connecting rods. Lick of paint and your ready to enjoy.
Glad its winter, cos im not in a rush about it, be different if it was summer, but I would like to get this rectified soon in the next few weeks or so. Good things come to those who wait as they say
Hi, to be honest have not had a chance to do much, been working all week end, work has gone nuts ! Aint had time to do anything all week, but yeah got alot of info and stuff, Seeing my mate is mates with Ben, my mate has called ben and had a chat to him, I wanna change the seat first, before i do anything else, i will how ever keep u posted when i sort it
No worries, i get 2 weeks of soon so will have plenty of time to start doing sh*t. will let ya know how i get on.
Hi, hope your all fine. Been so busy with work, finally got to ride around yesterday as had a day off. Thought Id post a pic of me Also havent had chance to sort anything out about foot gear controls, but will do next week, as i have some free time, will go buy a new seat and see what happens from there .
Hi FeeFee, I can see your problem from the photo, I don't think big boots will help. How much further forward will the padded seat sit you? Maybe a piece of foam or pillow to try before you buy the seat.
Ughh, ran into my first problem wiv bike. Had it running before, for about 5 mins, it kicked over first time and didnt miss a beat. The bike has not skipped a beat since ive had it. Was ready to go for a ride, then a friend pulled up, so i turned it off and came inside for 1 hr, once my friend left , I went to go for my ride now the damn thing wont start, its turning over, but just wont go. i smelt fuel, thought i might of flooded it. Still no joy on it now 1 hr later My dad is trying to start it right now, nearly starts....it wants to go badly, u can hear that part lol any suggestions? Regardless Murdo if the seat doesnt push me any further forward, i still need it cos i keep slipping back on this one.
CHECK THE PETCOCK maybe it is slightly turned off or on reserve really dont know but like to try to help
OMG! hahaha stupid me...i been riding around on RESERVE tank and ran it bone dry , must of used the last drips when i last started it. Whats a petcock?
