G'day guys, I purchased my FZR2503LN3 about a year ago now as I got my learners motorcycle license.
The bike had a couple of problems when I first purchased it but I knew nothing about bikes and was stupid.. so I brought it anyway.

The bike would not idle well at all, it would stall every time and it would only run on reserve for some reason.
The air filter was stuffed, no clean air getting in at all so I replaced it! same with the fuel filter.
As soon as the bike got hot it would quit at red lights and be unstartable for atleast 20 minutes.
Well I fixed the not starting when hot issue, turned out the valve clearance was way out and as soon as it got hot there was no room for those poor valves to move..
I also fixed the only running on reserve problem.. turned out the whole fuel line was FULL of soil.. yes soil and no fuel would get through., no mesh filters either which didnt help the situation lol

The carbies have been the biggest issue all along though! I have ironed a few specs out and now I am soooooo close to tuning this thing to perfection! My floats were set to 13mm and that worked okay.. but at red lights I would have to rev it pretty hard and very slowly let the clutch out, otherwise it would bog down and stall.. cant count how many times I was at the front of a pack of cars and stalled at a red... pretty embarrassing.

Since this I have lowered the fuel level to about 5-6MM above the line. My idle is much lower and I get pretty good performance out of the engine now.
taking off at red lights is much better then it used to be, no stalling but it still bogs down a little and it is hard to take off quick, but this is only up hills.
I dont think its me, I am pretty light.. =D
Also the bike only like to rev to around 14k max now, it almost feels like it is restricted..

Any advice would be great, thanks!

Thanks heaps for the quick reply mate, Exup seems to be working sweet, might try wiring the sucker open as a last attempt!

*edit intake is all good, no cracks, sealed with silicone to the air box, no chance of any leak anywhere

Hey grey, I just read your post http://fzronline.com/forum/viewtopic.ph ... 1c9b6c27e0 and that "one way valve" is completely hollow haha would this contribute to my problems, not being a one way valve?

Hello mate....
I would doubt something so small would affect things at all.......the bike ran ok before I pulled it down and it had nothing there.

I have a brand new valve ready to fit and I can blow thru it from both ends...one way seems more restrictive than the other..it has some kind of filter material inside .
Without it I guess u are sucking in unfiltered air to the carbys...........block it off and see if it makes a difference

Its just called a "filter assembly" 4X7-2149Y-00
