    Apparently there is a 1994 2kr engine for sale.
    Will this fit into my 86-88 FZR-250?
    Are there any major differences in engines?

    Cheers, Kris <!-- s:) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" /><!-- s:) -->

    I think the mounts are different to suit the frame, and from some of the previous posts, some of the electrics around the ignition are incompatible. From memory the older header pipes don't clear the oil filter which is on the front of the later engines.

    No such thing as a '94 2KR.

    Pretty sure the 3LN3+ have the spin-on filter by the sidestand.

    I have an earlier and later model engines. The sumps are interchangeable. The ignition pickup also seem similar though I haven't measured them. I also have a couple of flywheels and although they have different numbers and different tapers onto the crankshafts the trigger teeth on the outside are identical, one long and three short and in the same places relative to the keyway.
