what does it really do (is it a gimmick) has anyone tried it and what kind of results would you expect. im really looking for a more in depth scientific explanation if you know what i mean. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Tuning-kit-...86?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item1e78a7d01a
Re: does anyone know what this confounded fandangled hudacky In two words "CON JOB". If it did what was claimed every manufacturer would have one on their cars to make them more fuel efficient.

Re: does anyone know what this confounded fandangled hudacky yea I vaguely remember that.....hmmm thats showing our age
Re: does anyone know what this confounded fandangled hudacky Im running one of those in my car. They do work, i paid $60 for mine a couple years ago. It basicly draws all charge from the battery instead of minimal amount thus theoretically giving u more power all the time. I noticed the difference, Its like having a fresh new battery every time I drive. Ur better off with a battery Elimininator. lolz http://www.ebay.com/itm/Motorcycle-Batt ... 3f23a35224
Re: does anyone know what this confounded fandangled hudacky i thought battery eliminators were only for bike that were kick started eg dirt bikes old harleys etc
Re: does anyone know what this confounded fandangled hudacky apparently not, these days. A lot of people use em for track days coz they r lighter.
Re: does anyone know what this confounded fandangled hudacky so do they store enuf charge in them for a one time starter motor to crank it into life or something?
Re: does anyone know what this confounded fandangled hudacky Its just an oversized capacitor that gives enuff charge to kick motor over more than once. as i said great for track days coz they are heapz lighter....and they do 2smoke and 4stroke engines.
Re: does anyone know what this confounded fandangled hudacky My experience of these things is that they are no good in bikes with electric starter motors - but they are OK in older 2T kick-start bikes that use self-charging magneto ignition systems. The use of a battery eliminator is also dependent on the type of electrical generator (alternator) system used on any individual bike. You also can't fit these to bikes that have DFI or any type of ECU on the bike - these systems all require a regulated +12v DC supply to work properly.....which means a battery. Not an oversized capacitor..... Waita - are you using one of these in a track bike ? If so, could you give us some details on the bike, how well it starts with the starter motor etc ?
Re: does anyone know what this confounded fandangled hudacky Im not using one on a track bike or any bike, I wish i had a track bike and would deffz use one. I have read up on them and there are ppl that think they r great. I just cant seem to remember where i found it.
Re: does anyone know what this confounded fandangled hudacky I asked my local mechanic - the dyno operator - about these battery eliminators the other day. I wanted to see if one could be fitted to the fizzer for track use. He totally advised against it. His experience (this guy sets up a couple of the front-runners in Formal Extreme so he knows his stuff) - was that the battery eliminators are really only good for older 2T trailbikes that use magneto ignition systems and the battery is really only there because of rego requirements for lights, indicators & horn. A battery eliminator works for these style of bikes - but would fail pretty badly in a small 4T 4-cyl motor that revs to 17k. They just can't store enough voltage to provide a good spark at those sort of revs. Clunkers that only rev to 6 or 7k max, with only 1 sparkplug ? Could be an option........but not for track bikes, especially late-model stuff.
