    this my first post <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s:D -->

    I am after some forks for my 2kr I am having trouble finding a reasonable set of the net and while I was looking I came across a early tzr250 and the forks on those look almost identical, has anyone tried using tzr forks before or anything else that has worked?

    The 2KR was based on the TZR250 so there is a good chance the parts are identical.

    I've looked at both oem part numbers for the fzr and tzr and the only difference between the numbers is the model code. would this mean they are the same.

    No. Yamaha part numbers have the model code and then the part specifying code; all parts designed specifically for a 3LN have that model code, but the 5-digit part specifier is the same through all models. For instance, the 3LN cylinder block p/n is 2KR-11310-01; it was originally designed for the 2KR, the part specifier is 11310, and has had one minor design change (but is still interchangeable with other 2KR-11310-0 blocks). The cylinder on a '96 TZ250 GP race bike is 4TW-11310-11; even though the part specifier is still 11310, you can appreciate I hope just how different these parts are! <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s:D -->

    Different brake setup.

    The stem bearings are the same so you could swap the whole front wheel and all.

    Tzr forks would have different springs and valving.

    How bad are the forks?? wd40 and 1000 wet dry sand paper. Does wonders and on a regular ridden bike they wont get any worse. Especially if you hit them with some WD every once in a while.
