hi looking to put hid kit on a 3ln7 every where saying the normal bulb is 36w but which hid kits is 36w to 55w hi low but my bike has a single h4 bulb. H4 bulbs are 55w so is the wiring in these bikes 55w or do i need to rewire it to stop burn out
    thanks

Sounds like someone has swapped the lamp out.
The 36w HID light kit would be ideal, about 3 times as bright as the originals.
The bikes with two headlamps have 2 x 35w lamps, would suspect still using the same switch and wiring in the later models with a single higher wattage globe.

have to run second power lead strait to the balised. it cooks the headlight relay because it draws 9amps cold to warm up for 10sec. normal lights draws 6amps all the time.
when warm only 3.5amps to run. so 10amp fuze on the line will work fine
still waiting for hid kit to show up got on ebay 10000k 35w h4 two headlight kit with wire harniss for $15.50 with post for aussie warehouse if need any info let me know

That high initial current was a bit unexpected. Must be doing that to get the lamps up to operating temperature quickly.

yep 10sec from cold to hot so only 10sec that high running is only 3.5 so dont know if starting will reset if dose then battery might be next problem with out the wire to battery it melts relay and switch with the all ways on light fire is a worry

Your suggestion of using an extra relay and wiring will overcome all the problems.

    battery flat trying to start
dont know if its the cold or 2days not started for fuel or battery.
think it fuel as disconnected tank to put in the hid and it starts but only while holding on trottol
jumpstart from car battery witch dose not stop the amps problem
just wondering solenoid makes a big chicking sound and heats up normal or shot
