I bought my 1988 Spada off a local guy in Brisbane, he had had a minor accident on it and smashed the headlight and gauges. It was well weathered when I picked it up, so I gave it a big clean up and had the seat recovered, fitted a MCS headlight and bought some chinese gauges from Ebay to suit a CB400, I then transplanted the wiring loom and, speedo, temp gauge and tacho into the CB400 surrounds and my Dad and I made some custom brakets so it would fit the bike. It passed its roadworthy first go and was my daily ride for about 5 months, I recently sold it.

    Enjoy the pics.

Today, I went down to Capalaba Motorcycle Centre to see Mike and Julie for a RWC and new rear Tyre on the ZXR250 and what do I see in the workshop, my old VT250 Spada, it had an extra 6000 kms from whan I sold it about 12 months ago and a few more scratches...  Mike informed me it was in for a RWC .

I also saw YongPC's smoking hot CBR250RR  getting some lovin

Hey mate. Love the CB400 gauge mod. Was there much required in doing this?

Could you use the existing spada wiring or did you have to get a loom from a cb400?

I don't suppose you have any photos of the bracket you made do you?

    Cheers

I used the spada harness, the plug on the CB400 fits the spada harness but I had to undo the wiring the on the back of the gauges and change them around until everything worked, took a bit of doing but I got there in the end. As for the bracket, it was a 2 small steel pieces of steel about an inch long that I drilled holes in either end , one end was bolted to the triple tree and the other end to the gauges.
