Cheers guys!. Im am unsure of the model but will find out tonight, my friend had the 1991 zx2r frame with most of the pieces sitting in his shed for 3 years which he handed over to me after i scored an engine for it. So il try find out the what engine it was. I have just finished cleaning the carbys on it. And going to chuck them back on the bike this week and see if she will fire up :).

if the side of the frame is flat its a C model, if it has a groove down the side the its an A model. also C model has a single headlight, an A model has twin lights.

Ok cool its has a single headlight so must be a c model. Im unsure of the motor though because i bought it off gumtree. Is there any number on the block that would show the year of it ?

Also just figured out how to post photos so heres the bike from when i 1st got it a month ago till now. Ps that back rims will be gold soon.

Yep there is an engine number on the bottom. It will say 250C or 250A somewhere in the number indicating which model it is from. If it's a C model make sure you have a C engine or you'll be in for a world of pain :)

The A and C model have different bore x stroke and different ignition advances. You can't fit an A model cdi to a C model wiring harness to rectify this because the wiring harness is different and the pickups are different too.

If the bike and it's wiring harness are a C model you will need a C model engine.

Aw stink lol. Im super lucky i got the A model wiring harness with the engine so il whip that in
We got the motor cranked over tonight but im guessing it wont run 100% being an A model motor with c model harness?

That's good. I assume it'll be fine with the A model harness in. You may run into a few niggles if you're using c model switches and lights but can't imagine it'll be too much of an issue.

It'll crank... not sure if it will start. My C model engine in A frame did run for a time. I recommend you avoid running it till you sort the harness out. No point risking wearing/damaging the engine if you want to use it.
