So as I mentioned I managed to score a few little bits, they came off of bumtree!! So I know I only just got a new muffler but when this showed up on gumtree for 1/3 of the price…well who was I to say no to a full Yoshi system over the last few days i had a delivery from the post man and finalllllllly my throttle tube arrived... so the top tape shows the starting point of the throttle and the tape at the bottom is when the stock throttle is open..... And then we fit the new tube and the tape in the middle is now where full throttle is.....no more wrist cramps ....well hopefully and with the new grips all installed....been waiting ages to put these on on and hopefully you can see but here is the right bar after my last low side, bend is not all that bad, i'll pop it in a vie and straighten it out! nice a strong it is!! good work tyga! and as i have a tuning day today i decided its only fair i see how the new system goes..... so here is the comparison of the stock manifold V's the Yoshi one......sorry my phone went dead so you will have to wait for the pictures of the finished install. I still have yet to tackle building my spare carb set with my litetek & dynojet kits, but i want to check and do some research to see what jets ect are best to get the most from the yoshi system. i'll keep you in the loop, but for now, cheers! Plodge Racing!
OK so with work changes, life, racing and holidays i have been laxed in my updates....... Nothing massive has happened to the bike over the past few months just a few little tweaks here and there......and some general maintenance. the bike is due a full strip down and some well deserved tlc coming into the off season and i'll be sure to document all that but for now i'll let the pictures do the talking of the few bits that have been done over the last while.... So bought some nice adjustable "unbreakable" levers...... Then decided to patch up the cracks in the fairings after the crash back in April....by patch i mean put more fiberglass behind it haha... And fix the belly pan from the first set of fairings.....reason they never fitted right is that they never put enough of a "lump" in the pan for the dog bones to clear.....so hey i may as well modify it to make it fit. and off with the old screen....... and on with the new.........unfortunately its way to dark for racing so I've replaced it with a clear one. Time for a service and a mention to my awesome sponsors for all their help and support! oh i also finally bought myself a tinted visor and last few pictures of my clutch replacement after melting it at round 3 in July hopefully this one will hold up for a while as its not a cheap exercise. so I've still a spare cab that needs rebuilding with a litetek seal kit and dynojet kit but that keeps getting put on the long finger, i also want to change the set up to a 45T rear sprocket and run GP shift but once i do that i will want practice to get used to the changes.....hoping i can get it sorted between now and round 5...hummmm
well may get a few more updates in the coming weeks....just need to get some time to faf around in the garage
Ok so a little update on the little ninja. i had a tuning day on Sunday so last Friday i took to the garage to change around a few things on the bike. started it all with cleaning the front chain gaurd......that thing is nasty! then i looked in to pulling the rear wheel and crush drive off. lucky a while back i bought a spare rear wheel with crush drive so i put my 45T sprocket on to it and it was a case of off with the old crush drive and on with the new.....having two makes it so easy to swap sprockets around if it didn't work out on Sunday. a relativity quick and painless process......... up next was the reverse shift...again another fast and simple process. so after a few sessions out on the reverse shift and a few close calls i decided to revert back to normal shift just until the next round is done. its just the down shift thats throwing me off. i'll look to tackle it again in the off season. i'm still undecided about the 45T......feel like i am getting more drive out of the corners but not as much as i expected. It has changed all my lap especially where i'm changing gears....some corners for the better....times have gone back to 77's but hopefully i can pull then back to 75's next outing.....maybe two changes at the same time was not ideal? anyway, bikes back in the garage and back on stands....tyres to be changed before the next track day in two weeks. prob need to do a few other things......cleaning it is one
ah working the foot is ok its being confident knowing its in gear that got me. i'll try it again in the off season as i can see the benefits, especially in corners.
Yer I find I'm either short shifting or not pinned through corner cause I don't want to valve bounce lol Think I'll do it for rd5
Nice thread, following Always been interested in getting into smaller capacity racing some day. Do the classes have a total minimum weight in the rules?? Not sure if it's the same in Motorcycle racing, but I use to race Karts where because of the small engine power there were separate weight classes because even a 5-10kg difference in driver weight gave a significant advantage. Smaller drivers could throw on lead to get the weight where they wanted it and bigger/taller drivers could also be competitive. Is there something similar in the 250cc class? Or is it just kind of deal with it
just make sure you get some tuning in proir, it takes some getting used to if you have ridden normal shift all your life....well for me it did hence why ive gone back for now. you could look at P6 production class like what @Mclaren and @simidau are doing in qld. the FX championship runs in the asbk series and you can race the ninja or cbr 250 or the 300's in it but that all modern class. no weight restriction like in karting or formula fords.
I supplied you with the 45 because you were using a 43 and cant see how a Ninja can pull 200kph haha preferred my 47, even compared to the 46. but we didn't run race headers in 2013/4 Moo get a 300 next year, you deserve it, Icing on the cake is NO carbs! consistent performance every day all day. Now we need some Blue and Orange in 2016 to break up the green bias
bahahaha 200kph....for that id need a very steep hill a strong back wind and a tow rope ah if i get one for the right money i might just take a step up. but its all down to coin really any word on if the r3 will be allowed race the production series?
All your 250 stuff fits the 300's which makes it cheaper if you found the right donor bike to swap the std stuff on to sell yours, just a cheap way of doing it. #48 is taking my bike out on the weekend for testing, looks close to being in with limitations. As for race shift Its like inverting the controls on the xbox, either works for you or not, bit like the way we either favour lefts or rights. See you Sunday, if you have onboard camera would be sweet.
Well its been a while since this POS has graced your screens so i thought hey, i may as well let you know whats been happening with the bike over the past few months....... So this is how she ended up at the end of last season......a bit battered and bruised after a 5 round season and with a few little tumbles here and there...... so i went to Causeway kwakka and bought her a few gifts to say tanks for not dying on me last season few bits of preventative maintenance and a few bits for maintenance issues.......some people think i go over kill with maintenance and oil changes but hey, the bike gets a hard life and i like to look after my stuff as best i can. so while the bike was getting a bit of well needed tlc, my fairings were stripped of all the vinyl and stickers and set off to the blokes at Scardifields to fix of the smashed set and have them all freshly painted ahead of this season! massive thanks to the guys from Scardifields smash for jumping on board and looking after my fairings for the second year running! so here she is all put back together with the nice white fairings ready to tackle a track day at the start of April.... i'll get a picture of the bike up later and how she sits now after been stickered up ahead of this weekends 1st round! massive thanks to Scardifields smash, OH! Objective health and of course 2Fiftycc.com for getting behind me again this year and for helping make my dreams a reality! You are all amazing!
for anyone wanting to keep even more in the loop of this years racing and the stuff i do on my bike in between jump on my FB page and give it a like! Feel free to share it about thanks again for all your support! https://www.facebook.com/Paddy-Browne-144-Team-Plodge-445272902314342/?hc_location=ufi
na, all road going gear is to be removed. (apart from switch blocks in production) Big update coming in the next few days, i believe i may have dropped a valve or spun a bearing but i'll know more when i get a chance to drop the motor out of the bike..........stayed tuned.
