so for the past (almost) 12 months I have been messing around with my '84 GSX 250. I have probably looked at every image on the Internet of these bikes and have only just realised that most bikes have a different shape to mine.
Is this due to different years or models?

Second that GrayImport. Did the gsx400 tank bolt straight on of did you have to modify the tank or the frame or both?

Might have to start looking for a replacement tank.

Anyone have a gsx250E style laying around???????

Been awhile since Ive looked at it but I think the front mounting is the same but the rear needs some re engineering.

Yeah you've got the latter model tank. The frame is identical to the earlier ones. If you can find an 80/82 model tank it should bolt straight on.

Soooooo after a very quick search on eBay last night and some bidding tonight I am now the owner of a much better looking tank.
Winning bid $49. Postage $22 I'm happy with that looks straight but will not know condition until it rocks up on the door step and do not think there is a key for the cap so will have to cough up for a locksmith I guess

Fingers crossed its in good nic and bolts straight on

Good work. I nearly bought this tank last time it was advertised on eBay. Good luck!

The rear tab looks different to how the later model tank mounts to the frame?

Yea I noticed that. This tank seems to have 1x central mounting hole as opposed to the 2x on each side. Hoping to just be able to fabricate a bracket between the two mounting holes in the frame.
