Hey everyone. This is a topic that has been talked about in this forum many times and spoken of endlessly in other forums and the news with stories of riders getting fined etc.

I'm curious to know if anyone here has personally ever been fined for having a go pro or any other type of camera on their helmet? In my personal experience here in Sydney NSW around the metro and the city areas I dont know of any riders who have had any trouble with cameras on their helmets from the cops. Has anyone had a different experience around here?

These days you can cop a fine (excuse the pun) for having one on your helmet. A guy in VIC I think took it to court and lost. It's been posted up here somewhere before

I did follow that case a little. What a joke! To be honest Victoria seems like the most strict state when it comes to anything driving related and definitely seem to be the the biggest hard arses.

I still dont know of anyone in inner sydney getting done for it though. It almost seems like the further away from the city you go is when your more likely to cop a fine haha

There was recently a long discussion of this somewhere on the forum where there's some very good info. If I find a link I'll post it here.

The main point is not the fact it was a camera but how its mounted .... their concern is changing the integrity of the helmet .... as in someone may get the drill out and screw it on :commando:

Yeah i have read this many times but then they also ignore, for example, when the adhesive attachment of a go pro is attached to a plastic part of the helmet like an air vent.

I have personally not had a run in with cops where i live over this though
