my little zzr was involved while parked this morning, and now it wont run without the choke on, and is not ridable. Could the carbies be damaged as a result of being knocked over.
Having to run with choke on sound like an air leak on the intake (needing more fuel from choke to run). When it was picked up were any of the vacuum hoses knocked off?
I didnt see the bike get hit or picked up. It wasnt running right and lost all its power on the way home. It wouldnt climb the hill i use to get home, had to be towed home. I let it sit for the weekend, done an oil change and got the engine running without the choke after the first start. I checked all the vacuum line are in place.
If it gets knocked over without major impact you'll usually flood it somehow, letting it sit for a while could clear it back up - if not draining the carby bowls and cranking it with no choke/throttle until the fuel system is dry may help - then start again. Can't explain a sudden loss of power though - maybe one of your plug leads were caught and loose. Oil will just work its way back down into the sump once the bike is upright again but could have gone in strange places while the bike was on its side.
