Hey guys, I am cutting my loses and trying to recoup some money from this.

    ZXR250C 1992

    -currently registered till the 11/9/16
    -39000ks
-engine is in unknown condition, I've only had it started a couple of times and it wasn't running right for any of them.
    -new timing chain installed
    -18" rear wheel 17" front
-Fairings in poor to average condition.
    -Tank is straight
    -front shocks leaking slightly
-missing the air ducts and top fairing covers (the black plastic part in between the fairing and frame) all over parts available.

It maybe an easy fix, I honestly have no clue, but I just have to much going on right now to take on project.

Make an offer on parts or the whole bike with rego or without.

I'll post some photos tomorrow, as it currently still sitting with its fairings, tank and radiator off.

I was thinking $500 or best offer as it sits with rego.

I am pretty keen to move it on, so make an offer.

I would have thought going and giving him a hand to get it running would be a more appropriate thing to do from a senior member here than offering a ridiculous pittance to buy it.

First off I'd like to say thanks to Risky for some tips and pointers even if they didn't pay off.

So I found out why my bike wouldn't run right. I managed to get it started after a second set of new plugs, some aerostart and fiddling with the carbs and aside from some ticking like it has done every other time I had started it ran perfectly... If it was a 3 cylinder, so I thought "no way can it be this hard", I've stripped and rebuilt a fair few engines so to clear my name and reinstate some of my ego I decided to get my temperature gun out and see if it was an even temp across all exhaust runners, that's when I noticed one was dead cold, so I got a screwdriver and shoved it down into the cylinder and hand cranked it and you wouldn't bloody believe it, the piston in cylinder 3 wasn't moving. That was when a dark feeling came over me, I knew what this meant and it started to make sense as to why he had partially stripped the bike and was so keen to drop it off to me from Sydney, he would have to had known that there was something very wrong with the bike. So I am guessing it's snapped a rod.

Anyway, the bike is rooted and I will be parting it out, I'll list prices and parts over the coming days.

I feel slightly relieved knowing that it was not a mistake I had made, because for a while I was really doubting myself.

Thanks guy, it's a shame my first venture into bikes turned out to be so shitty.

Yeah stuff happens... One of my FZR's had a bad timing chain, bad head stud threads (with one in upside down), a reused head and base gasket (blown)... the other one had done a big end. As always its BUYER BEWARE... the onus is on you as the buyer to do your due dilligence. Compression check is always a good idea for a non-runner.

Definitely buyer beware, I should have done a compression test and on my part I was naive to be so trusting.

    Lesson learnt.

I'm very interested in the complete front end to do the conversion on my Fizzer, I'm in Sydney and can pickup and help with removal

Anyone else out there can give me some tips about this conversion I'd very much appreciate it

If ruckusman can organise something before then that'd be great if you could get it down to him.

Sure is a bugger about the rod.

I won't worry about another motor, I think I may go with a gsx650f next. Just depending if I can pick up full time at work.
