So I picked up another ZXR250C the other day as I had no bikes to work on. Last ridden and registered 3 years ago, obviously had been dropped and the guy no longer had the will to ride. First up thought I better see if I can get it running before doing any of the cosmetic stuff so I drained the fuel out the tank, replaced a fuel hose and fitted a couple of hose clamps where there were none, removed sheared air box bolts from the carbies, dropped ta bowl off to see if there was any crap but was all clean. Re assembled put a new battery in and it fired up after a few seconds of cranking. I adjusted the idle and it idles beautifully and responds instantly to throttle inputs. Exhaust was way too loud so have ordered a standard muffler off ebay. Ordered a new clutch lever and brake pads. I spent Sunday morning repairing the fairings and they are now ready for spraying. Tyres are only 4 years old with 5000km on them and are like new so no need for new tyres. So in about another week I will put it on the market for some lucky bugger who needs a fun bike (I love mine).
