IMG_2220.jpg After being stuffed around by a guy selling a SL70, agreed on price, got the money at the ATM and picked up the trailer, he never sent me the address even after we had made a time the next day to pick it up. Did not come back to me for two weeks in which I replied get fu#%ed. My second bike was a Honda SL70 and I have wanted one for a while. Enough of rant. From 1982 till the early 90's my girlfriend and I had traveled throughout Indonesia on Yamaha DT100's so when this little DT80 came up I had to have it.

Much progress has been made, exhaust welded up and painted, battery installed, indicators replaced and wired (they even work), carburettor cleaned, bent tail light bracket found in Queensland (purchased, repaired and painted), guards repaired, waiting on tail light, mirror brackets, horn and tyres. I can't wait to get this little one registered. IMG_2252.jpg IMG_2253.jpg

Slowly progressing, bike is running, waiting on tyres, ignition switch and seat lock. IMG_2271.jpg

teh fact it has lights and compliance... wow. can get full rego? not just recreational/conditional?

DT80 is coming along well, all electricals tested including oil alarm, new ignition switch and seat lock installed and starts first or second kick. Just waiting on rear tyre (Bloody Essendon Motorcycles). IMG_2308.jpg

The old bike's looking good. I'm curious about the oil alarm though.

It has a light on the speedo for low 2 stroke oil level. There is a float switch in the oil reservoir which operates the light. The level switch/float is in a cylinder with a small opening on the top and bottom which acts a a damper to the switch.
