Quick update. Bike is virtually ready to put back together. I could assemble it right now. But was convinced by my mate to clean, polish and paint everything that can be seen on the bike, due to new fairings, etc. so I am doing that over the next few days ready for rego inspection on Thursday. Will post up some progress photos a little later. It's still having some flooding trouble on strartup. But this is probably because it hadn't been started in almost two months. Risky, you were spot on with the contact cleaner, one spray and it's all good! I mentioned that cut my hoses long enough to lift the tank up and still have the hoses connected. Pics:
Ugh, can one of our esteemed mods please edit the above post to show the pics with the IMG tags??? Mobile photobucket is retarded now. And 5 mins is a little too short a window if you post then get distracted.
thank murdo re the contact cleaner. he taught me and the honda front brake switch is still working after close to 3 months.
curiously I did the same thing with the fuel line length, without actually intending to With the flooding on startup, do you have a fuel pump installed?
Yup. But it's not the standard one. I do have a standard but it's too small to mount without the rubber bracket. Which I don't have. Yep, while you were reaching for that 12mm spanner!
I'm yet to get a fuel pump for mine but am considering getting one of these also http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Low-fuel-pressure-regulator-suit-carburetor-1-4-psi-chrome-/160835374860
Be careful using a non-standard fuel pump. They standard item is a very low pressure unit, and that is all the float valves can handle.
And I have a funny feeling that is why is causing the flooding issue. But unfortunately it's all I got till I get one of these: Yes that is EXACTLY the piece I am after.
