    Battery fully charged : 12.8 V

Starting : If the voltage drops below 9.5 volts, the battery has very low capacity and should be replaced.

    Engine RPM's approximately 3,000 : 14.0 - 14.5 volts

They don't exist specific to a bike model. It's a range across all bikes. Grey is on the money but those numbers are pretty typical.

I think it's more about minimum levels than maximum ones - unless your maximums are wayyy out there which is likely to be a different problem entirely. This is a good video (it suggests 15V as a max):

Although it's about testing the "reg/rec" in essence it shows you how to do an online test at your battery as it's all kind of related.

Pulled the bike out of the yard again
Battery was sitting at about 11.4 volts on rest
Then went to start it and it wouldn't start and dropped down to 11.2 and the lights were slowly dimming
So let it sit for a while then went and push started it and let it idle to charge it up a bit , volts raised to where they should be after watching that video :)!
Turned it off and put It in the yard for the night , shall pull it out again tommorow and check battery with the multimeter again and see weather it's dropped again and if so will go get a new battery :)

Get a new battery. 11.4 is low for a resting battery.

Little video I took with multimeter attached

After I finished the video at the end it did rise and sit on 12.55

Still need a new one or not ?:) Just not sure !:/

Standing voltage should be 12.8v if fully charged. Anything less and the battery needs charging or is starting to lose capacity from age and will eventually need replacing

The bike hasnt been ridden much (as in a long steady cruise) and Im guessing theres been a million attempts to start the bike ..... if its a cheaper acid battery then it may struggle

A decent overnight charge will show how its performing.

Batteries can die for many different reasons so age isn't really a factor. If it's that new it will probably be OK with a good trickle charge, you can't rely on the bike's charging system to put it up to full capacity. If you leave it overnight and then test it you may get a "superficial" reading - if it is sustainable then you're OK but if the battery has something wrong with it you'll drop back down to the similar levels you're seeing. Those current levels suggest battery replacement is needed, but only resort to that if it doesn't charge properly.

Noticed my bike is a bit funny
My mechanic mentioned the issue and said to bring it back in a few months when I have spare cash

But it seems a bit iffy when I pull up to lights and hold in the clutch it sometimes sits and idles at 4 grand , a quick let out of the clutch a little drops it down to about 1.5 or 2 k
Or even a quick Rev drops it down but wondering what the issue could be and how to fix it ?:)
    Carbs? Vacuum leak ?

Air leak. Check that the vacuum lines are correct and that the carby boots are done up tight

I can't believe you're still experiencing problems after you speak so highly of your mechanic and your wallet is a significant amount lighter. And he's got the cheek to suggest you return when you have more money.

Sorry but... surely someone had to say it, right?
