its also time, i need new rear pads and a clutch lever as the current lever's makeshift adjuster isnt exactly RWC, it'll be back registered pretty quickly. The shitheap commodore needed money spent as well lol. But good idea i do have a fair wad of cash worth of zxr250 stuff sitting in my shed accruing dust.

 

does this mean you no longer want the parts i have set aside for you?

 

I did this really strange thing today... I rode my bike...

 

I will let you know this weekend buddy, after spending some time on the yellow bike.

 

Discovered I couldn't get 400 km out of a single tank of fuel on Nix.
Alternatively, that I can get to and from work only once after hitting reserve.

Unfortunately I was 1/3 of the way to work this morning when I made these discoveries and well out of walking distance to a servo.
Fortunately a fellow rider stopped, then went and got his fuel can from home with a couple of litres of fuel to tide me over.

I was only 20 minutes late after all that!

Filled the tank after work and rode the long way home to make up for it.

Edit: Also, I bought my mate's hardly-used GoPro Hero3 Silver from him on the weekend. Will have to decide which mount to use and take it for a test ride...

stripped the track bike even more to see if i could sell the engine on.. turns out the engine and frame number are missing.. ground off... so I can not do anything with it besides part it out.. and i washed Hildegard...

 

I have enging/frame stamps if you want a lend!

Ordered a clear screen for Nix so I can mount the GoPro somewhere sensible. For less than $20 delivered I can't complain!

Drained Scarlet's oil and put 10w-40 in instead of the 20w-50 that was in her. Put her back together and tried to figure out why she's still stalling at low revs - carburetor still looks good and there's smoke coming out the front so I might have a blown head gasket!
Already have a replacement gasket kit so will have to put some time aside to get the engine out and check out the top end.

Still need to get the main spring on Jack's centrestand because I can't ride him with only the little spring holding it up and I'm not taking it off a third time!

Still waiting on some parts for Rosie (KLR650) - might have a buyer lined up once she's running nicely again...

Will need to get on with getting a slab laid, then buying and building that shed pretty soon I think!

 

Stood around in the sydney heat for many hours for MOST test and failed at the end... sigh... have to go back in a week's time but at least it's just for the last test

 

The heat can really do you in.

I did my P's course in February last year and had to take a break from the practice runs to rehydrate before I did the test itself.
I was glad I did because while half the class of 8 failed the MOST after a full day of stop-start riding in the heat, I passed first go with only one markdown point. Only lost that one because I stalled the bike once between the start and end of the test period.

What have I done today? Another test run with the GoPro on my daily commute.

Will probably get onto rebuilding a stripped RS-A carb this evening if it's not too hot!

 

Well not too bad... Just do the last test and youre done..

 

Renovating the room above my workshop. Needed to move one of the heating ducts so that meant shifting the bikes around and I had to move the 250 gamma out of the workshop into the main part of the basement. I put one of the spare fairings on it just to see how she'd look... not bad in a mish mosh kinda way .

 

Dawg Gornit, found a drop of oil under the bike. After much investigationing, I tracked the source to the cam chain tensioner. There was drop of oil on the end of one of the screws which hold the cover on so i'm not sure if it's coming from the cover or, where it mounts to the engine. It looks like there is only a gasket for the engine mount side of the CCT.
Will have a closer look tomorrow, not looking forward to removing the carbs to get access though.

 

@Gary just to save you a little bit of a headache, when you put the carbs back in keep the airbox attached

 

This was actually yesterday.. but i made a new exhaust gasket for Hildegard so no more black marks on my swing arm.. also i have had an issue wit my speedo.. it was way way out and was bouncing up and down 20km/h boucing around. sitting on 9k rpm is roughly 100km/h but she was saying that 11k rpm was 100km/h.. so I found the small screw in the speedo cable near the sprocket was missing and found a replacement.. but the weird thing is it still bounces but only 10km now and for the life of me it still feels like im doing well over 100.. the revs are reading 10k @ 100km/h now... so i may be up for a new speedo cable...also spent 4 hours out riding.. i will post pictures when i get home from work..
