Hi of recently bought. A Suzuki Gsx-r. 250 earlier version GJ72A had carb issue when I bought it. The problem is when I start it after a few minutes fuel would leak at rear of carb through vents leading to the emulsion tubes. Floats are set. New parts Float gaskets, float needles, float seats and other-rings, main jets, or-rings, washers and springs on pilot screws and jet needles. Still waiting for the needle jets to arrive from Japan. Any advice please Thanks in advance
You say it's all re built but it's leaking / flooding? The description is a bit vague, are the tubes openings in the carb body or hoses. Do the floats actually float, try them in a cup of fuel.
You're not running the fuel tap on the "PRI" setting are you? Is it a vacuum fuel tap? My bandit is (GJ74A)
Hmm. Are the slides moving freely? If the spring wasn't sitting central in the plunger the needles could be stuck allowing fuel to leak through.
Slides moving fine spring in centre. What I noticed the emulsion tubes are 2 types 2 with 12 holes and 2 with 6 holes I did not take note where I took each one out. Can you maybe show me in the right direction where the different tubes go
Maybe this helps. Let me know if you need anything in particular translated. @Boydie77 @Simon any insights guys?
Hang on, try this instead The workshop manual is in the forum's "resources" section available to premium members too.
I'm not sure I'm with you guy's, slides & springs ? It'll be the fuel inlet needles sticking or not right to flood like that. Did the inlet seats get replaced as well. The o ring around the inlet seats can a problem if they are old. Nice work Fizz, that answers that. Are those openings the fuels leaking from a part of the choke system? Nice bike by the way, worth restoring, 45hp, looks like its all there & straight
hi Stu between the 2 carb om the front there's a vacuum pipe going from one carb to the other but on the workshop manual the rightside carb got a pipe going somewhere should that carbs be link like that
I don't know, should be fairly high, 1 bowl feeding 2 cylinders especially if theyre regular size bowls
NO NO NO, they are the overflow pipes..... please undo that hose, they vent to the air Here are some on an across
Thanks Kiffsta will remove that pipe and put 2 individual pipes on any specific routing where they should go. And thanks to all the guys you all been of tremendous help
