City West Yamaha (Hoppers Crossing, Melb) have one in their warehouse, can get it tuesday morning they said. (03) 9369 8684. $9.25 for the gasket. Postage was another $10.70 though, bit pricey. Earliest I could pickup is tuesday next time I'm down there, may save some cost but not much time if you want it urgently...
Mr Grey Rang Yamaha dealer here on the Sunshine Coast, he does not have one but according to his computer Yamaha Aust have one left with new arrivals today. Price is $8.80
Thanx for the quick responses guys Phil .... how quick could he get one in ? ... overnight? Stu ... yea the online one was about that for shipping .... crazy
Just got the message mate.........the Yamaha guy went home early?????? not feeling well....apparently Will try in the morning.
Would be a nightmare for a clutch cover. I'd stick to a gasket that made for it. But I am a butcher with scissors haha
I've made them heaps of times before, currently have one on the bandit I made with no leakage (clutch cover too). Just make sure you get oil rated gasket paper and she's all good.
Gasket on its way hopefully .... smaller bike shop here where I went for the battery said they can get anything for any make. And yes Yamaha have 1 left
Use grease on it Mr Grey and you will be able to reuse it a gazillion times. Well maybe slightly less than a gazillion.
Might need to come off again if the springs are too heavy duty and I need to put standard ones back in. lithium grease do?
The manual stated to champ. Some people swear by it others hate the idea. But it softens the gasket still seals and doesn't seep and comes off without leaving behind tiny pieces of gasket next time.
It said to grease it with engine oil? I get the reason for greasing a gasket, but surely you don't use engine oil? I get it if you're trying to seal an o-ring but bit of a different story there.... Weird recommendation I think. But if you haven't had any problems that's good news.
