Where's the fun in that Phil. Don't you remember the boot on the back tire trick from your pushbike all them years ago. Lol
so 2 steps forward and one step back, I had arranged some Camel MC22 fairings from SA, the purchase price was cheap, I did some investigation before buying them and courier charges for the box was about $82 from Adelaide to Brisbane. I now have the sellers address which is Mt Gambier, postage from Mt Gambier to Brisbane is $288, I was like WTF so I googled Mt Gambier, its seems its down near the Victorian border, I thought it was a suburb in Adelaide, does anyone have any fairings for sale in Queensland ?
Dunno why but I took thorough look, best option is looking like the free deliver option from xcite for 500$ $560 actually ouch. unless the quality of those hong kong ones are ok, seen some of them for like 400 (Including shipping) on the bay. will any fairings do? http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/hornsby/motorcycles/honda-cbr-mc22-fairing-kit-/1073893077 these are 150$ from hornsby I could pick them up and send em to u if all costs are covered?
mate i shipped my fairings from Perth (picked up at my door) to ballarat for $85 with pack and send they are so good ive just used them again and errr again
Speaking of post cost. I sent an 8kg parcel 520km yesterday for $5(AUD). The tracking made it that much more expensive. The irony is that the business I sent it to used to be an Aus company based in Australia.
FYI, the cost of freight is not based only on the distance from pick up to delivery. It will always be cheaper to send a large parcel from 2 cities where the freight company has a depot. If the truck needs to stop half way to drop off that one box, the cost will be much higher. Example: post fairings from Sydney to Melbourne cost $65, but Sydney to Canberra cost $150, and Sydney to Wagga cost over $200.
Well, went for a run up the coast to see Phil on Saturday, first job was to balance them carbs, had a good go, but the revs kept jumping around everywhere, I suspect some seals have failed. I had a spare set of carbs which we fitted, much better, ran much more smoothly. Fitting up the Carbtune and tweaked it a bit, next job was the forks, they were stripped and cleaned and new forks seals installed. This morning we had a nice feed for Mothers Days then it was back to the garage for some more assembly, we managed to salvage a piston from a MC19 rear brake and fitted it to a mc22 caliper, bled it up and then did the front ones as well. Really , all it needs is fairings, indicators, a H bar and some mirrors and I think she will be sweet. Here is a Vid capturing it in all its glory Not sure where Phil is, actually truth be told he probably doing laps of the estate
Great vid, we got moucho done in a very short period of time. Couple of first for both of us.......1st fork seal install 1st use of the carbtune pro, amazing bit of kit. I had a feeling the carbs would be out of whack............didn't make a liar of me. Got the bike running well...... nearly did a Murdo heading down the street...........****!!! no brakes, thank goodness we got gears to back us up, should have known better. Great week end, thanks a million Chris
What's this BS? I had brakes, they just needed to be bedded in. Anyone who runs out of brakes is there own fault, it is not 'doing a Murdo'.
The NO BRAKES was front and rear not bedded in, new brakes...new pads, we just finished bleeding them....took her down our street......and slowing down was a major issue. As soon as I felt this I thought......this is what Murdo had happen to him, as they say....live and learn????? Obviously I didn't learn
