No. Gear driven cams are way over the top on a road bike. Aprilia used it for their WSBK bike claiming it was part of a kit but it was promptly banned.
We did some parity testing I had a 3 way battle with two 300's in full race trim. National Champ gapped us (B grader) but myself an another C grader went hard at it for a couple 15 min sessions back to back. He got me in the first and I was closing but could never make a pass as the Ninja is strong up top with full system and tuned, in the second 15 mins I got him but he was on my tail never more than a bike length. His comments were that the R3 rocketed off the turns but he and I carry a diff riding style Next time we will swap bikes cameras and dataloggers. Moo and another forum member saw it. Cant wait till Honda brings theirs to the table, Suzuki joins, the KTM and R3 allowed in, and MA stops being a useless cash cow and realises the potential of restoring production racing with EVERY manufacturer. (Yep just broke their Social media policy again ) Parity is a load of bollocks Gub'mint has spend millions putting a Lams plate on ALL of them
What is an MC22 a 'RReplica of? Wasn't a replica of the RS250 race bike of the day, the NSR was, and the NSR was the Proddie that was raced.
View attachment 16666 View attachment 16667 FCR's fit on the NC23, but you have to notch the frame on a NC29 to get them to fit
Of course the 2 stroke is the full replica of a MotoGP bike and the four strokes are replicas of the WSBK bikes of the time. It's just a loose term used to describe a high performance four stroke. Since Honda used the V4 in WSBK and did not make a VFR250. If you choose the same thing in another brand like the ZXR250 you can see the similarity to the ZXR750R. The only similarity between a Honda MC41 and the anything that is or was raced in WSBK or MotoGP is the single cylinder and the rest is cosmetic. For the R3 it is all cosmetic. This is really what this discussion boils down to. On one side we have those who say it is not really a sports bike and those who, in its defense, compare it to bikes that are 25 years old. That is not to say the R3 is a bad bike, but is it a mini M1? My 1990 FZR400 has more in common with Rossi's M1 than the R3.
I really want to ride an R3, I am seeing heaps of them on the road and they are getting rave reviews.
I reckon all LAMS bikes get rave reviews because predominantly newbies are riding them and their first bike is the best thing since sliced bread

Im going to call consumer protection, I thought I was getting an M1 for $6500 lol. seriously , the buthurt over new Lams bikes not being good enough for the mad hektic skillz is a joke. I wont be able to outride one in my lifetime but gonna have a fuckton of fun trying. I'd rather be at the Track than in the shed fixing munted ****.... unless its a z50 of course
ahhhhh that was a fun day.....my poor little minja didnt get a look in......but looking from the back of the pack it was impressive watching the R3 and the ninja 300 going hard at it......interesting to see what happens when @Aufitt gets a full system on his.....and what ever else you have planned looking forward in catching up on the 18th mate!
April 1st has come early again, *like it has for the past 20 yrs. Hope it does come as a 4cyl, so everyone complains about the price, nobody buys them and will make a 2015 R1 an absolute bargain at $24k But I would sell my stupid 500 2bloke for one
No one is really asking for a MotoGP spec 250cc learner bike. The point is, the 250cc bikes are boring. There's nothing interesting about them. As others have mentioned, the only thing really changing is styling. As I mentioned before, a 3 cyl bike would be the ultimate compromise for a manufacturer because it would give the bike a better sound, a little better HP (per cc) and be unique. It also wouldn't exceed the width of the frame so you retain the niimble-ness of the smaller bikes.
Nowhere is this more true with MC22 Gumtree ads. I question how many other bikes they have ridden. At least the new models are tested by Journo's who race. When I got my License, the RZ350 was considered a fast bike at similar claimed 42hp/165kg And it had **** forks and old 18 inch Bias ply tyres. Now Lambs say they are boring and 180kph is yawn go to sleep territory, I cannot grasp this concept. An R6 or R1 will probably be a boring Lams bike too one day and noobs will post that they are bored 'of' it and ya shouldn't be such a pork hunt and buy a 200hp HP4 which is a 'real bike'
I'll just leave last weekends ASBK practice times here for the noobs that say the new bikes are too slow for their mad hektik skillz That's real speeds, not some 8% optimistic speedo indication.
