In the book about Burt Munro (worlds fastest Indian), old Burt tried cutting and rewelding the crank and camshaft of a Triumph twin to 'phase' it 45 degrees to get it to run smoother and faster. It didn't go any better or faster so he tossed it under the bench and never touched it again. New Triumphs now have the crank 'phased' in the same way Burt did, but they use better materials and a balance shaft.

After admiring the Kiwi's for their ingenuity (CGR500) it's time to go to the other end of the gene pool and play "spot the idiot"

Too right mate, just buying a set of aftermarket plastics for the bike would cost almost that so it is a great buy

Out of curiosity having never ridden either, is the MC22 that much better that you'd fork out extra for it?

It seems to be the most popular of the CBR250RR but I'm wondering how much difference it makes?
