Hey Phil just to clarify. The $7 verses $110 was the price for the temperature switch.
The radiator was $90 for the chinese. As Honda did not sell the mc19 they wont supply an oem.
A radiator for a 22 oem would be any old price they dream up. :) Rusty.

Researched emulators for the MC22, apparently that translates to burrito?

    http://japan.webike.net/products/22766118.html

Shock replacement has been hilarity. Penske gets an A+ for service. Their shock cap is 35mm, which requires grinding. My understanding is an Elka has the same issue. I checked Ohlins AU catalog, they have shocks for an rd350 but not the cbr250rr. Lulz! Dave Moss had one built, so someone has the details! Could have been them though I guess.

Got the MC22 going. So two weekends ago I installed a new thermostat seal which fixed that issue but I noticed the carbs probably needed new seals. I put it all together and a few leaked. So I ordered some seals and installed those on Saturday. And still leaking! Turns out I must have dropped a carb bowl because the outer lip was chipped off. So in leiu of getting it welded and trying to fix it that way, I just JB Welded it (using some wire to keep the groove nice) and it worked nicely. No leak so far.

Drained the coolant (temporarily water) and ready to flush it with water again and put in some brand new engine ice. An oil change is also on the cards and I think I'll ride it to work for a few weeks. Just hope I don't snag the exhaust on any cars when filtering.

Honestly! Yes.... =.( You know it's true. The Chinese ones aren't up to scratch, I don't want to have to think about vacuum leaks anymore.

Yeah availability seems to be a bit hit and miss for ones to suit the earlier MC22's. Some Honda bike shops can't or won't order them because they are to suit a grey import - seems illogical to me, as they'd be getting money for genuine spares for a Honda bike. As an alternative I though of using silicon pipe cut to size, with a piece of aluminium tube inserted inside to help maintain spacing between the carbs and head inlet, and use some hose clamps to keep it all in place. I'll have to get around to trying it out sometime.
