Watched as my bike was loaded up onto a ute and driven away. They money's nice to have in the bank account, but it never seems to stay there for long!

Decided that dad's 3LN3 needed some love... new plugs, checked air filter & coolant, greased the chain. Carbs were a bit gunked up but a good old italian tune up got that sorted.

Now to go bike shopping on gumtree :drinks:

Seller's remorse. I get it bad sometimes and buy 3 because I miss the old one.
I can never understand why the money disappears so fast...

It's got carby trouble (big surprise there) at the moment... plus I have nowhere to store it in Sydney, and it'd be ridden through traffic every day... it's too nice and too rare to do that to it... oh and it needs rego

I am probably going to get shot for this.... BBBUUUTTTTTT what about a Hyosung gtr 650 fuel injected model, replace the Regulator rectifier and the chargig problem goes away and they have a SV650 engine in them as well.. plus big bonus is they can be cheap if you find the right seller, gumtree has one in QLD for 12 or 1300 for a unrego wone that has been sat with full gear... i would not laugh at a budget 650 that has the same engine as a Suzuki.... but hey that is just me also added bonus, they are lams approved but you can unrestrict them..

Changed a leaky front master cylinder over yesterday with what I thought was a good spare, now the spare is leaking today:aggressive:. Either the spare master was cactus or they dont like these aftermarket levers, they are chinesium levers but do depress the master cylinder at the right angle & are for a zxr250. ---Just done the master again using the "newest" bits from both, smeared a little vasolene over the main seal, all good so far no leaks:)

Connected up my new gauge set for the VTR250 and it all works nicely so time to fit it up... removed the top yoke... nothing was tight other than the yoke.. because they had painted everything... steering bearings were not adjusted so I removed the lock nut to check it all.. not a single remnant of grease... so I added some grease for now but the head bearings will be done as well as the fork seals..
Stripped the paint (I am not a fan of the red) and it will be painted in metallic silver (Mag wheel paint) to try and bring it back to original look.
Trying hard to unfreeze the steering lock on the ignition barrel... hmmm nothing seems to move. I will keep hitting it with WD40 overnight and see it that free's it up... I dont want to have to pull it all apart... grrr

Put a cheap tank pad on, bled the front brake line, topped up the brake fluid and went for a quick blat down the highway to Murrumbateman and back. Front brake is a little more grippy now :)

I wonder if that's a common spot to rust on them?
My mates' 2004 XR400 was rusty there too, i had to cut it out and weld in a repair for him
