We are going to buy a 20L drum of Delo 400 and run it in the Fizzers http://www.caltex.com.au/FPL PDS/Delo 400 Multigrade.pdf I havnt read up on the finer points of specs and so forth but theres alot of favorable comment online regarding doing this ....... the cost factor being one. Glenn : I remember you making comments on this awhile back but cant remember where Any constructive comments welcome
What sort of $$$, I buy 4l of Penrite 10w 50 for $37, a 20 l drum would have to come in around $160 - $170 to be competitive
This is a couple of years old but gives an idea ..... http://www.caltex.com.au/sites/Calt...NSW_GrabaDeloDeal_Industrial_HR_NOTRIM[1].pdf
Supercheap and Autobahn sell 20L drums of oil but I would be going to a depot or here being a trucking and regional city theres a ton of places would be selling it. Phil: if u google diesel oil and motorcycles theres a ton of info and discussion. One of the biggest benefits Ive picked up on is the 'base' oil used to produce it is far superior than for your average car/moto oils. Yea I pay $70+ for 4L of Motul ...... its has to be cost effective by a long shot.
guys - I'll have to dig it up for you, but there's a post of mine on here about this stuff - it's damn fine oil, excellent base stock and the mixed fleet stuff has really good petrol spec - simple fact, the trucking companies wouldn't use it if it wasn't good oil

here's my post with the links to the full thread on netrider http://2fiftycc.com/index.php?threads/what-oil-do-you-run-in-your-fzr-250.1877/#post-15595 change oil regularly as it's cheap when you're getting commercial quantities & price - that's the most sensible option
Ok, price for 20L is $114.90, so it works out at about 12 bucks for an oil change with high quality oil... I'm in.. I'm getting it from the Caltex depot in Tamworth. This is the multi-grade one.... There is also a Delo 400 LE which is designed for better emission standards etc... which we don't need I guess....
would be nice not spending 100 bucks every oil change, diesel oil would have to withstand the high temps of the turbo running of its tits all the time aswell. now to find bulk oil filters on the cheap.
That caltex stuff is only a CI4 so thats a lowish spec now for a diesel oil. You can easily get a CJ4 which is the higher spec mineral oil for around $100 for 20lt. See page 2 https://www.alliancetruckparts.com.au/assets/base/downloads/PC24-Final.pdf
