Nah that sounds just like mine bedding in.
Greasing the pins is certainly a good idea but this is exactly what I was talking about before ;)

    Spooools.

I recently bought one of those aluminum paddock stands from supercheap that @MashtX has plugged a few times. The quality isn't to bad and it certainly is light.

Now i knew that the spools weren't going to be easy to find as the ZXR uses an M12 thread which was never very common to begin with. I got set of these

Now i have seen these for sale but i wasn't to confident that the pitch would be right and i dont have any M12 taps.

I didn't expect the bolt to be right but the spools would fit an M12 bolt so i could use the spool and go buy some bolts that fit the swinger. They arrived today and what do you know, they bolted straight into the swingarm. Bloody miracle. But life is never that easy

The spool only just fit in the top of the plate so a little customizing was in order

You can see the unmodified one closest and the opened up one at the bottom

Sitting pretty on my 'custom' stand:neo:

I have one of those stands! The plan was to use it on the FZR400 but unfortunately the frame has no place to mount spools.

I may have to get some nuts welded on to it, as all my other bikes have centre stands...

Yeah it's a bit of a shame the 400RR never got spool mounts as i believe the RRSP did have them. I was thinking of either miking up some 'platforms' for the stand or just getting a bit of aluminum rod drilled, tapped and welded on
