After dropping my Zeus too many times I bit the bullet and got an R-Jays TSS Tour-tech with most of the same features for a little over half the price of a replacement Zeus. Will post a pic when I get a chance to take one.

went helmet shopping, picked up a Bell for a bargain price of $265

RRP was $600, not the colour I would have chosen, but function before fashion

I got a new visor today because I was careless and scratched the original. Silver tint. I think it suits the "carbon fibre" look of the helmet (Rjays carbo-tech)

just remember, its only the following that is allowed,

Currently, motorcycle riders on Queensland roads are required to wear a helmet that complies with Australian standard AS1698 or AS/NZS1698. From 1 February 2015, the range of motorcycle helmets approved for use in Queensland will be expanded to include those complying with the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (ECE) 22.05 standard.

To make sure the helmets meet the ECE 22.05 standard and to support enforcement activities, helmets approved under the standard will be required to display a label certifying compliance with the standard. The regulations governing the ECE 22.05 standard currently require the display of such labels (for example, a sticker on the outside of the helmet or a stitched label on the inside of the helmet). The label will resemble the label in the diagram below but may contain any number from 1 upwards.

What I must ask is, with the 'new' helmets available to us, why have we not been able to use these before? Are they not up to the 'Australian' Standard?

According to the articles I've read, red tape and refusal of the standards organizations to recognise that Australian standards are in fact less stringent than international standards. Also they want the certification fees from manufacturers.
