Got the oxford hot grips installed. Have a shift on sunday from 7pm-midnight so they should get a good workout.
Went for a track day with my bro for his b'day. What a day. About as much fun as you can have with your pants on. Lakeside is a bit hard on the right hand side of the tyre though! Met jubby from this site with his nice Aprillia RS250 as well.
Hi mate was nice to meet you and see the nsr going well. Be proud of that bike coz its dam tidy. Was my first time back after my first ever top end rebuild. Prila ran amazing couldnt have been happier. Message me your number would love to get back out there october
Spent some time this arvo getting things organised to swap out my Zx6r motor. Stuffed the gearbox a few track days ago, and found a complete motor plus frames, tank and other bits for 400 bucks. Cheaper to swap than fix, so doing a swap a roo.
Dropped the bike in the shed and snapped the clutch lever.... After recovering from the rage. I managed to find a compatible Yamaha lever from a not very local wrecker and install that until I get a proper one. Fml. Sent from my HTC_0PJA10 using Tapatalk
I reckon the shed is one of the most dangerous places for motorcycles. Today I worked hard to ensure the girls blouse on my tyres is even and dark! It's a tough gig with only an 11km commute and bugger all twisties.
I took the FZR out for another cruise today, did another 130km's round trip Noticed that my bike is sputtering a bit at 1/4 to half throttle, and is stalling every now and then if i pull up quick, think i need to drop my float level 1mm or so
Someone told me the main jet tube can get worn to an oval by fluttering needles. The float is good thought, though. I started my fzr tonight, eying off a off-the-street drag race night in a couple of weeks, before we start making a serious speed machine out of it. Clutch is a concern.
Check the needles for wear. Fingernail test. Eyeball the nozzles where the needles go in and see if they are ovalled out. Keyster kits for 3LN1 and 3LN3/5 carbs are available on www.motorcyclespareswarehouse.com.au - just search for "3LN" - but beware, there are different kits for the inner and outer carbs as the jets/needles/tubes are different. When you replace them (and all the brass bits includes in the kits, plus a litetek kit ) set the pilot screws to 3 turns out. Fully warm up the bike, then adjust #1 pilot screw in or out slowly until the RPM's rise slightly. Adjust the idle back down with the main idle adjustment, then repeat for the other 3 carbs. You have just completed a basic tune on your FZR. Goes without saying that you need the stock airbox and air filter for best results. Standard needle clip positions are the centre ones with the plastic shims underneath them.
Got the MC22 registered! The mechanic had to replace the fork seals, the rear LCD indicators (because the ones that were there were so small that the number plate covered them), fit the Litetek carby kit (thanks @maelstrom ), tear apart and clean the brakes (but no new parts required), fit the DB killer to the Mussari pipe, fit an LED relay, replace an LED headlight, replace the spark plugs, supply and fit a battery and do the rego inspection. Total cost, including rego, the bits I bought, the mechanics bill and the original cost of the bike was $2005.10. Having ridden it now I can't imagine I could buy a better bike for two grand All I have to do now is clean it properly (and ride it some more so I can adjust to it after the VTR250) and I'll be a happy camper.
awesome news Jazzhunt, they are a great bike Once you have cleaned it up, we would like to see some pics in the Garage of both the VTR and CBR- http://2fiftycc.com/index.php?showcase/
