**** THESE MECHANICS I drop it in today saying do the work. They call me at the end of the day saying "oh we think the front forks are out of alignment, it will cost 360$ for us to un tighten the bolts and align them again". *jaw drops* are you guys fucken retarded!? omg give me back my bike before I kill u!
The moral of this story is..........don't go banging your wheel against a tree. There is no defence against such an act of vandalism.
And my other advice is If you feel the job is beyond you (no shame in that) .... then either get someone to assist you that has experience ... or just go to other mechanics for a quote.
I made a post once about assembling axles, forks etc but I don't know where it is. I think that means I talk too much.
Forgot about that one Mr Grey. There is another one too about why forks have pinch bolts and how to avoid stiction etc. See I do ramble on too much.
Hey ramble as much as u want, if its about how to fix front forks we can talk all day haha. Na i got the bike back, they charged me another 60$ to say "the forks are twisted", so that's 120$ in total for not fixing the problem. But lesson learnt, never go to a mechanic again. Id rather ruin my bike and buy a new one > pay a mechanic half of what the bike is worth to not fix the problem. I watched a few youtube videos and have done some reading so yeah I will use my friends tools and give it a stab on the weekend.
Section 13 ... take note of torque settings http://2fiftycc.com/index.php?resources/honda-cbr250-service-manual-part-1.59/ And check the wheel bearings also
