Good to hear things are improving, hope you continue to heal. Confidence on a bike is tricky, at least you're wise enough to choose an appropriate pace. It can be hard to regain that confidence, too. (I still have a fear of jumps, visions of the bank end coming over the top of me. PTSD: post traumatic stack disorder.) Some of those defensive riding skills may help with confidence; push-steer helped me for some bikes. But I'm sure you're already on to it. All the best, keep up the good work

The last Tuesday dirt ride of the year had 11 riders on back roads to Warabah National Park (where the McDonald river becomes the Namoi river) for bbq lunch beside the very full and fast flowing river. A couple of spills on the way home but only dented pride.

Went for a ride up in the Dandenong Ranges on New Year's Eve with some of the local VJMC lads (there were no women). Kudos to @jmw76 for flying the Team 2fiftycc flag and riding his Spada up, down and around all those funky roads up there. Who knew there were so many B roads in the area? It was hot and humid, but a bit of fun. Hopefully, someone took a few more pics than me and preferably without the non-Japanese ring-ins in the foreground. I will have to go to the next VJMC Tooradin meetup as there are plenty of rare and interesting bikes showing up.

Frank, there are quite a few pics of bikes that attended on the VJMC forum.
My little Spada was quite at home on the twisty roads, but it did expose my lack of confidence in unknown territory. My apologies to all those riders that I held up. At least we all stayed safe.
    Peter.

I wasn't exactly scraping the pegs either. 95% of the roads we rode I didn't even know existed! I was watching the guys in front to gauge what was coming, but that can be dangerous too. Some of those potholes looked like they could swallow an entire bike! As you said, at least everyone stayed safe.

@Murdo looks like your CFmoto is still going strong.

Bit of an update on the inuries. Been nearly two and half years now and although the physical scars have healed, my riding has slowed down a lot as I find myself taking too long to make those snap decisions that we need to make when riding (do I go left or right of pothole?) and have had a couple of 'puckering' moments on corners. I have lost a lot of memory (the doctors warned me of that before the op) and sometimes find it hard to make a life decision. The 'floating' rib bones still give me grief if I lay or sit wrongly.
My morphine use is down to 1 or 2 nights a month now, with panamax when needed during the day. :)

Damn that's tough Murdo. Will you ever get off the painkillers? I believe ribs are never the same. I dig mine out when they get stuck in and the first break was more than 40 years ago.

Last weekend was a VJMC club ride to overnight at Bingara, NSW. Some of us went on Friday after lunch and others came on Saturday morning. Was a good roll up of 20 riders in total with three from Inverell and one from Guyra and the rest from Tamworth and Quirindi. Saturday we rode to Narrabri for lunch with some coming home and others going back to Bingara to play up overnight. I mis-calculated my fuel range and ran out 10Km from Gunnedah. With a beer bottle from the side of the road we drained some from another bike and got me to the service station to fill up. Onward to home after 474Km.
