believe it or not but acetone will melt the plastic and if you turn abs to dust you can make a filler.when using the soldering iron do a series of snake trails.
new pads front and rear for the 2kr and booked a pink slip test for wed morning. all the engine parts have now arrived so a rebuild after rego.
Put in a new starter solenoid for my Across. No more Fred Flintsone starts for me. Also put a 2fiffty.com.au sticker on my bike.
tried to take the bike for rego but flat battery now on trickle charger.put risky stickers on new helmet and did a 100k ride.
Took my recently completed resto Kawasaki KE 175 (I know it's not a 250 but it is close) for a test ride. It spluttered a bit and left a smoke screen a WW2 Destroyer would be proud of until it cleared out 30 years of dried up oil, then ran like a little beauty. I had forgotten how much go a 175 two stroke trail bike has (been riding 125 four strokes lately) and sat on the road lovely. Only a couple of adjustments needed, a slight weep around the fuel tap until the 33yr old seals swelled with the fuel and all good. This is what I brought home December 2012. It had been sitting under a tarp since 1984. This is what it is now.
Thanks Ruckusman. This one is the show winner. Have now won 4 trophys with this 1972 SL125, including the best single cylinder at the VJMC National rally last year.
got the fzr registered today. had to use contact cleaner on the front brake switch. similar to honda but no holes so pulled sealing boot back and sprayed down shaft hole. worked. now to rebuild motor and clean carbs. motor was gutless and disappointed with performance. hopefully after rebuild will howl. revs out in nuetral but revs downhill but dies on a slope even though down through the gears.suspect low compression.
Checked the oil, checked the air pressures, filled the tank and somehow ended up in Daybora. Enjoying a coffee at the bakery as I type this lol
