I've just brought the megelli 250r, I ride it to and from work every day from gold coast to brisbane (75kms)

its done 6,000ks now and running well. I'm happy with it. as its my first bike and I brought it at 5,000ks.

Only problems would have to be getting into netural. - the only way to find it is to go up down to first then back up to 2nd a few times. its very touchy and hard to find.

And the tip of my exhaust has ratteled off. I need to find a new one eeek!!!!

I'm looking at putting some $$$ into it in the next few weeks.  i was looking at another thread here...
(Megelli 250r LC performance upgrades) and im interested in doing this :)

any ideas on what to do first. im thinking of starting with the CDI and sproket. then moving onto bigbore kit. injectors. then turbo. lol this is my little toy to play with :D

I need prices/ qoutes on how much instalation would cost on big bore kit, injectors, and turbo.

    Hey Sean

Welcome to the forum, your not the first to report gear \ neutral issues, I hope Megelli sort them out soon. As for which mod first, I think the CDI is a good one as well as an exhaust to get her breathing  bit better.

Please feel free to start your own thread and keep us in the loop as to how you get on.

    thanks

    Chris

Hi there, just thought I would report some issues I've had lately (that have really made me resent the reason why I bought a CHEAP CHINESE PIECE OF ****!) Beware anybody who is going to consider buying one. And I'm sure this is a reason why Team Moto is not a distributor anymore and I'm not sure that Qld even have one now!

*Apart from the usual hard to start cold, and nearly imposiable to get into neutral. I have replaced about 6 or 7 headbulbs. The stock tyres were cast crookedly so were replaced with-in a couple of days of picking it up. Numerous bolts and things have come loose.

*3 months old and the clutch cable broke, which had me stuck in the rain on the way home from work at night waiting for a tow truck.

*5 months old and the ball joints (both) on the gear lever broke, due to being shitty soft steel bolts. (took 2 1/2 weeks for it to be fixed under warranty).

*6 months old and after a spirited ride up the mountains with a mate, got home and the exhaust end cap and rear seat had fallen off.

*7 months old and the rear brake pads were gone and wore unevely. (took 2 weeks to get them in from Team moto as no-one else sells them for the 250).

*Now 8 months old and around 7000kms and one of the rear wheel bearings has colapsed. Causeing the wheel to run off center and rub on the guard. But the worst bit the disc is running against the rear caliper mounting bracket causing aluminium to melt in chunks on the disc and majorly chew up my brand new brake pads.
This last issue has left me without a bike and transport to work, at the worst possible time as my wife is pregnant and due in a few weeks leaving me to rely on Brisbanes poor public transport network.

So just to a warning to anyone considering buying one, BEWARE.
Japanese is always better, I have known this in cars for years so I really don't know why I didn't just get a ninja.

Thanks for reading my rant (read "Bitch").
And if anyone has a cheap cbr250rr or similar for sale I would be willing to take it off your hands asap.

    Cheers.
    Blake.

    Hey Blake
Never seen a list as long as yours of of problems with a new Motorcycle.
It is very sad to hear stories like these as it does nothing for the reputation of the manufacturer. Megelli have a very good looking motorcycle, no doubt about that, but that's more cosmetic. If the inner doesn't match the outer, then you have a problem which alas appears to be the case with your bike.
At the end of the day, we all want the same thing, a good reliable ride that we can count on. Sadly in your case this does not appear to be the case.
Hope you find another ride soon, we'll keep an eye out for you.
                                                        Cheers                Phil

    Hey Blake!

I have been in the same boat as you!

Sounds like u need to get in contact with the importer! Either Craig or Sinh @ Motorsport Importers helped me out with my Megelli...

I was so close to giving it away as well but after a bit of correspondence with them they "slowly" but surely sorted out all the gremlins....

On a side note i just dropped it down my drive way last night!  :BangHead: the boys looked after me giving me new replacements panels for $60ea which retails for .......... $89.95RRP LOL so im laughing better than $250 from Honda..

I hope u sort your bike out! I've seen them go for good prices on Fleabay especially if yours is a white one..! So if your looking to sell thats where i would advertise it!
