I used to know a guy (30 years ago?) who lost his left arm as a kid. He was still able to get a restricted licence to ride a postie bike around the Bathurst area. He handled that thing really well.
Engine is a runner, two carb bodies stuffed so Sammc22 and I will have to re do another set. But those who have seen my vid will be impressed by how crisp and strong it sounds.
Rode in the rain... in Tamworth, rain is a rarity. Used the ALDI waterproof gear and it did its job. Just need to sort out something for hands and feet in the wet.
Took the R3 to RAC Airport track, 1200km trip, Managed just 6 laps, mechanical woes with a chain link blew $400 spending money, forefieted $300 enty fees as well as missed Collie the next day. Moral of the story.... NEVER use clip master links. HUGE slide into the tightest turn, clutch in, running outa real estate, clutch out... BANG spat a expensive racing chain out the back. Never crashed and that one was close. For some reason there is about 20 pics of me from 3 different photographers they were expecting big things of the R3 and I didn't deliver.
DID ERT2 Gold, non Oring racing chain, beautiful bit of kit. , comes with clip, we ordered rivet type, I didn't make it to the shop that morning before the RAC track afternoon. So I ran with it (i'd done two days at barbs with it and the old 'If it aint broke don't mess with it) Ive ran clips on 250's but pushing it with more HP, so learnt the lesson. Its damaged a link near the join but hoping I can shorten it and run on the MC22 as will go the 520 route. was 114 links. Anyone know what length chain an MC22 runs with 520 14/47+ VTR sprockets?
oring or non oring, clip or rivet? By no means am I saying you are wrong in doing so, just I wont take the chance on a $7k bike again. My bike was stringlined, and a swingarm gauge used, Im OCD about small performance things. I used to use them on MC41 no drama. Learnt that the 8100lb rating etc does not include clip type link. On the R3 its a very long swingarm, add a thinner height chain, non oring, running on the loose side of tolerance and it tried to go in doubled up. Just lucky the dampener guide did its job with minor damage. Our Track day providers and club don't allow clip type links. I pushed it too far and learnt the lesson.
$20 paint job done lol good from far but far from good haha Need $$ for tyres lol Sponsors stickers and vinyl number board to go on new chain and tyres and ready for rd1
Took the MC22 to lunch. She was cranky starting, but I chocked it up to her sitting for a couple of weeks. I hit the drive through and killed the bike so I could place the order. She didn't want to start. I kept her running and went straight home. I turned the bike off in the drive way, thumbed the starter, and within a 1/2 second she wasn't turning any more. Up on the left she goes! R/R took a dump, and it appears took the battery with it. As these bikes are rare in the US, I didn't want to hack up the harness to retrofit a mosfet regulator. I hit up cycleterminal.com hoping to find the mating connector to the OEM connector for the stator. I only saw what appeared to the the stator side connector. I quickly snapped a picture and took some measurements. Fired off an email to Joe (HI JOE!) and within minutes the connector I want is on the way. I found a place that offers r/rs in the mosfet flavor, and they even sell adapter plates for mounting! I had to push the DRZ off of the lift to make room for the RR. A couple rides ago the rear slipped out and sent me into a tree, promptly realigning my headlight. I, of course, dumped the bike and snapped the brake lever at the hinge. Limped it home 17 miles, replaced the lever, took it back out the next day...then put it on the lift with the notion of 'getting to it when I am ready.' I digress! I took the shroud off, and the brackets are mangled 6 ways from Sunday. I very rarely ride at night, especially on a trail so I'm not sure what I'm going to do at this point. The brackets are probably not cheap, but it's obvious that the light is pointing way off to the right. Maybe I'll roll with it, maybe I'll apply some percussive maintenance, maybe I'll sell the damn DRZ.
Changed the 400 master to original 250 master cyclinder bleed through some new fluid but can't get any bloody pressure Zip tie over night and see how it goes in morning
Well it was annoying me so I went back out lol tried bleeding at master again and got a big his of air success have period legal brakes!!!'
Attempted to put stock indicators on the R6, only to find that whoever did the LED jobs crushed the bullet connectors to fit spade connectors. The rear tail light is exposed wires twisted together. Fantastic...
It has an aftermarket tail section, or it's been chopped, and the standard ones won't fit on. Another item for the list... At least it has resistors/ballasts/whatever for the LED's
You need a packet of these. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/300939128032?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT
