Fitted some braided lines to the R3 Cup bike - removed the ABS system at the same time, holy crap that's a bulky system!

Still cleaning the wheels......determined not to join the "Club"

 

went to fit a new float valve in my RGV250, its the wrong size. Arrgghhh these were Keyster branded ones, I have contacted the Motorcycle Spares Warehouse to get them to measure one and make sure they shipped me the right ones.

 

Spent some time resetting the suspension. The front was too hard for my weight, but the rear was on the lowest preload setting. Really strange setup... better now.

 

Rode it. Too many family and friends with major health issues at the moment so I took the afternoon off work and took the bike out for a bit of mild twisties. Doesn't make anyone better but it helps get the misery and worry out of your head (well, it does for me). And it looks like my carby issues are all cleared up, if you'll pardon the pun.

 

Put some new Torpedo7 stand goodness under it's bum.

 

Had not ridden the bike for sometime???? So with perfect weather I cranked ZZR600 into life.
Took a few cranks to get her going but soon found myself cruising down the road.
Really was a perfect day, pulled into the servo to check tire pressures.....down a tad both front and rear.
With everything in order headed home via the long way, was simply enjoying myself too much.
Got home and of course.....promptly cleaned those "wheels". Was a very good day

 

Checked the front brake, bled the brake line and fixed my front brake for the cost of some time and some brake fluid I already had.

 

did a few bits of maintenance ahead of this season, picked up my fairings put the bike back together and got a days track time in on Sunday.....my body is still hurting and ive still a long way to go to but its a good start and i cant wait for round 1 in 2 weeks

 

Removed old mirrors. Installed new mirrors. Only cheapie universals but it's such a relief to be able to see what's behind me in the right hand lane again

 

550 kms in 5.5 hrs for entertainment on a saturday afternoon.

Washed and degreased the bike. Cleaned and lubed the chain. And since it was the first time I had done a chain i spent some time on the net looking for the best way to clean it. This meant, unfortunately, I found the "use WD40 or not" debate. Who knew it was such a big deal. I'm not convinced the chain is as clean as I would like it but, now I've done it once, I can do it again

 

Yeah, I think I might next time @GreyImport . This time I used low-fume kero in a spray bottle, a toothbrush and several rags

 

I always used a can of degreaser and a special brush to clean the chain, a quick hose off and allow to dry.
Then a spray with chain lube and good to go.
I've found that I get good wear from my chains by using this method.

 

Got myself a new bike oh yer enduro racing to come

 

Installed new throttle cables for the MC22. The chinese seem to have copied these cables pretty well, but not quite exactly the same. Works awesome though.

 

So got to work on the MC22 and noticed coolant crystals around the thermostat and drained the coolant (or what's left of it) to reveal there was only about 300ml of it in there! Seems the thermostat seal gave out. Thankfully the bike didn't seize when I rode it! I was sure I checked the coolant anyway (I normally did quite regularly anyway). And luckily a new seal is only $4.

Might need some new carbs bowl seals too because I noticed fuel leaking out of the #1 carb as well. Amazing what stuff goes wrong from lack of use!

 

killed my ninja........race two it decided that it didn't want to produce any more power.......not sure if its top or bottom end but hopefully i'll get the motor out in the coming days and find out what let go. its still got compression but its got a nasty rattle under load and now power.
