I'm heading out to the bike store(s) tomorrow in a quest for a rear fender eliminator, and a stand for the rear wheel at at the least. Currently my shopping list consists of: Fender eliminator Bike stand Chain lube Basic tool(s) kit for maintenance Waterproof + lockable rear bag/box Not anticipating any problems with the bike, but it helps to be prepared. Any ideas as to what else I might need would be appreciated
In that case, this was the one I was looking at: http://www.mcas.com.au/motorcycle-r...s-fender-eliminator-kawasaki-08-12-ninja-250r
If its just basic tools then get them from supercheap ,repco, bunnings or wateva Theres 2 types of paddock stands for the back .... brackets that hold under the swingarm or hooks that go under spools attached to the swingarm ....some stands have both to swap out .........dont pay an arm and a leg for one ...the cheapies do the same job ...... Ive no idea wat setup is needed for your Ninja ..... A cheapo multimeter is handy and a breaker bar to match your socket set is handy also ...its all about leverage
On the tail tidy the only brought in rule because guys were putting number plate right up back near rear shock so camera couldn't see! So rule is no more than 45 degree from end of tyre however most tail tidy arnt exact and I have always put one on all bikes and talked to police and as long as you are not mounting in a ridiculous spot and your mounting in a common sense area no one will get the protractor set out
That's definitely dodgy. Understand why they do target stuff like that, but I mean who wants to look at this ugly piece of plastic?
Buy good quality spanners as the cheapies sometimes break or round off bolt heads. A small 3/8 drive socket set, 12" shifter (can also be used for straightening things), a ball pein hammer, some pointed nose and flat nose pliers, and the JIS screw driver set and you will have a good basic set that will last for years. Other tools can be added as you need them. I have tools I bought in 1973, and still occasionly use them.
Acquired today: Bike stand Chain lube Degreaseer 10w40 oil Rear fender kit Backpack (in place of a box/bag, will need to get a bracket to hold it all on) As for tools, I've got more spanners, allen keys and pliers than you can poke a stick at. And I already have a multimeter. Fender kit requires me to take off both seats, rear fairings and side fairings. I will attack this tomorrow.
