Help 1983 GSX250 starter motor

    Hi everyone,

    the starter motor of the gsx250 1983 has died, I order a 2nd hand one from a bike wreckers with warranty and it didn't work and now they will not answer my calls very frustrating.
    does anyone else know where I can get a starter motor asap from in nsw

    Have you tried findapart.com, has worked for me in the past so worth a try.

    have you tried arcing across the starter terminals to double check it is the starter

    hi flea, yeh I did that , connected it up and it spun, but when I put it in the bike it doesn't have enough grunt to kick her over

    That would suggest your battery may not be 100%, worth checking.
    Also worth checking is your starter motor relay ??? could this be the culprit.

    brush length could be another.
