Heres where a lot of us buy our sprockets ......

    http://www.slipstreamperformance.co...facturer=0&make=Kawasaki&model=ZR250&year=all

As for the wheel bearings ...... if they are sealed type then the chances are they will be ok ..... if they are the open type then chances are they would at the very least need regreasing.
Stick your finger in and roll the internal part back and forward ..... if its notchy then they are stuffed

Replacing wheel bearings is not difficult ..... I knock them out with a screwdriver and to put in the new ones u tap them in with a socket that is the same size as the outer ring....... with a few tricks along the way.

If u search on youtube theres lots of vids on doing it on motorcycle wheels.

A set of front and rear wheel bearings + seals for an FZR is about $60 from the local bearing shop ..... take in all the old ones and they will match them.

Just using the finger test the rear wheel bearing feels smooth as silk but the front one feels a bit notchy.

You might as well do both while you have the bike in bits... may the new ones last another 20 odd years!

The sprocket bearing and the front wheel bearings need changing. After examining the rear wheel bearings it's clear they're almost new, must have been changed recently. I'm going to take the frame, swing arm and rims to the powdercoater on Friday.

If u still havnt removed the tyres .... save 1 to use as resting place to work on the wheels so the discs arnt touching the ground and to act as a cushion when your tapping bearings in and out.

I had a bit of car trouble (not mine) getting there and place I was going to finished early so I'm going to have to try again this week. I'll try to take before and after with prices. FYI

I just purchased all the bearings needed from here http://www.pyramidparts.com.au/
Very helpful staff in the chat, free postage in Australia ~$7 per bearing, I don't know how a business like that can be very profitable. It will cost me no most in shipping should I need to replace the rear bearings also

Waiting on a circlip tool so I can take the bearings out before taking everything to the powdercoaters.

The wheels are now bear but I was actually steered away from getting them powder coated from the sandblaster. Stating that they would probably crack after a couple sets of tyres. I'll take some pictures but I'm looking at getting them painted now.

First 'site unseen' quote for professional painting was $150 per rim :S ... I was hoping for $150 for the set. Maybe I can get them sandblasted where the frame went and paint them myself.

Painting is not hard if you follow the right steps. Give it a go. Worst can happen is you wash/blast it off and start again.

I think I'll give it a go, however the wheels are a textured casting so it's not quite as easy to sand back and try again.

Painting wheels like that isn't too bad, I did the rear on my FZR and it just took a little time and a good wire wheel :p

I added some higher quality more detailed shots of the final product. I've got to say I've pretty happy with the results and VERY happy with the paint, can recommend VHT wheel paint on a warm day. Doesn't splatter, hard to over spray, flash drys very quickly. I used two cans for two wheels $15 each
