i would look for a kwakka zxr400. Faster and more power than any of the other 400s (eg. cbr400, fzr400), it actually had a similar top speed to the zxr750 when it first came out in the early 90's (~225kph!). I would love one of these things for a track bike. Might be hard to find, though.
I'd do a FZR400 with a 600 motor in it....... personally. Or any newish 400 or 600 would do it for me as well. I do like the power of my 1000, but would like a smaller bike for the handling characteristics.
