Hi I'm after a reg rectifier in good working order as I think my current one is not the correct one for my bike and it's been letting me down as my battery is not charging as quickly as it could.
Hey Venom80, are you sure its the regulator ? ZXR's are known to have issues with the stator which effects the charging on the bike. Download the manual from the resources section, there are tests you can do to check the stator and the reg Chris
Could u include your location in your profile please mate as it helps especially when requesting parts ...... thanx! http://2fiftycc.com/index.php?threads/changing-profile-details.1916/ And test your battery condition also http://2fiftycc.com/index.php?threads/how-do-i-test-my-12-volt-battery-and-charging-system.1794/
I've done a heap of electrical tests on my bike recently so if you need help walking through them (grab a cheap multimeter that does AC first) let me know.
Hi Chris I have thought about the stator though the reg that is on the bike is definitely from a different bike as the bolt holes don't match up so the reg is the easiest fix to eliminate first Sent from my GT-I9300T using Tapatalk
Hi thanks iv already put a multimeter on the battery while the bike is running it does charge up from around the 5-6 grand mark but if the bike has any load on it when I switch it of eg. Head lights on it will not start again while hot or as I recently discovered until the battery has more then 12.8 volts of charge in it.
There's about 3 tests you can do. (1) When starting the bike, the voltage across battery terminals should not drop below about 9.5 V. If it does, one of the battery cells has probably had it. (2) When bike is running (in idle), should show somewhere above about 13.3V. (3) When you crank the throttle (when bike is running) you should get a voltage increase with the increase in RPM, up to around 14.5V. If you don't get this, you need to check your stator and reg/rec.
