How can i tell if my fzr 250 exup (1988), is a 3ln or 2kr? I have heard a lot about both models but have no idea what the differences are. How can i tell on my bike, and which is better!?!? (in your own opinion)

The frame as different to start with, 2kr has a small box type frame and the 3ln has more of a proper frame.
    The front disc, if it's a single disc it's a 2kr, twin disc 3ln

As for which is better - there really isn't much difference between them. They both share the same engine. The 3ln with the deltabox frame is supposed to be more rigid and thus you have better feel and control, but having ridden both models I haven't been able to feel any difference really (though I didn't ride the 3ln hard as it wasn't my bike). But then again the deltabox adds 4 kg to weight so technically speaking the 2kr has greater power:weight ratio (and given that the exup adds about another 2kg the models without exup like Tanya's would have even greater power:weight).

In the end I like the looks of the 3ln overall - the deltabox and twin discs just make it seem 'meaner'. But beyond aesthetics I wouldn't have a favourite. The deltabox models tend to be more sought after (because of aesthetics) and as such also tend to have a slightly higher resale value.
