I was looking at my shattered intrument cluster (yes im considering repairing it, Its only in about 10-20 pieces. While I was look ing at it I noticed that there is a bit of circuitry in the speedo that appears to switched when speed reaches 20kmph. Does anybody know what this is for? from the outside of the unit it apears four wires going into the instrument cluster on the speed side. Any Idea?
Dunno mate...cant say ive heard or seen anything like that before...how exactly do u know it activated at 20kms an hour??
a plate connected to the needle sits infront of a hall effect sensor. when the needle reaches 20kmph the plate unblocks the sensor. i spunt the drive wheel to figure it out.
Mine ('88 2kr) has a red light on the dash that comes on at 85Kph. This is connected to the speedo. Possibility ??? is the position adjustable ??? DAVE
