So guys it seems i have been posting in the wrong places for all my updates so here i will start again so you all can follow from the beggining.
So i have had this bike for around 5 years i had originally spent around 2k on it getting it back on the road. All original honda parts at the service centre at moss st new swing arm bushes, all new bearings, new fork seals, and a barage of other little parts. Even bought a new honda piston and full engine gasket set to do rebuild but thats where it stopped.
The bike was running and was having major issues with getting it started and running well once warmed up. So i did a bit of recon to no prevale so i ended up removing the head and thats where the trouble began. These engine are notorious for cracking from the spark plug to the valve seat. So bike off road ver the last 4-5 years and only now in the last 6 months decided to pull my finger out and get this thing moving. So here i am today. I will list all the progress shots from half stripped to where it is now so bear with me.

State it was for many years :(

I had just cut off the rear pillion pag supports ready for custom rear set.
    20151020_151547.jpg
    Mocked up tail peice

    20151101_144811.jpg
Fully welded up tail peice the bike seat will be redesigned plastic fairing but custom done to to street racer/cafe
    20151102_155128.jpg
Rear set fully jigged upto keep original peg, brake and gear lever position. ( man this was a little tricky) but got there in the end
    20151102_190351.jpg
Custom rearset bent and fit to suit original peg mount ect...a lot of dremel and grinder work to hollow out the old pillion frame and smoothly fit the new peices in place. Looks f#$n mint
    20151102_190817.jpg
    Zap zap
    20151102_204458.jpg
    And boom fully welded
    20151102_211628.jpg
And this is how she sits today. As you can see the original tail peice will sit closer to the tank and dropped lower i stead of building a custom seat tail. I like the idea of keeping some of the subtle hints of its former life. I will also be raising the rear suspension 25mm or so to add a more aggressive stance.

    What ya'll think??

And so no that i have a little time to get the frame supports finished i have decided to rebuild my cluster. I posted this the other day but for the sake of the build i will show all together.....

All of this will be finished this weekend monday or so i will post a sweet pick of it it all of it "shining" glory! It really adds some quality light for night riding!

So long story short when the bike **** its self dad took it to his mate at simka spray painting to get it fixed never got it fixed...they rid of it....now i dont have a head.
This is a head i can pick up off a 95 xr250r its identical except for the filed outer fins.
It to is cracked but i have no choice i will offer the guy $100 for the head but its going to cost $500!!!!! To get fulled welded up, reaseated, and all that jazz. exxy so its going to have to wait for a while and progress with the rest of the bike untill i start with the motor.

So thats where im at now.
So if anyone knows of a motor or head thats in good nik PLEASE let me know!

There was a similar issue with a bike on this forum and I suggested that the owner weld it up and fit an 8mm spark plug. I think he found a good cylinder head shop who agreed that it was a good idea and I forgot the rest. But maybe another forum member can remember the details.

By the way I like your work so far and agree with your styling idea. A Special Edition!
But why grind the welds back?

Thanks man! Not really sure i like a bit more of a clean look plus our welding wire was going slightly rusty so was leaving **** welds. My old man welded it and hes a fabricator and was having trouble. I will be using the tig for the rest of the bike. As i didnt like what we got out of our mig.

Try Liddle's Cylinder Head Engineering at Sumner Park. Pete does excellent work at a very fair price and tell him Blair says hello.
