    Hi,

Just wondering what the standard idle speed is for a 97 GPX250?  It usually sits or jumps between 1500-1600rpm.  The last two days I have noticed that it is jumping up to 2000rpm.  But it is inconsistent, stop at one set of lights and it could be 1500-1600 then stop at the next and it will be 2000.  Sometimes the idle speed will decrease slowly from the 2000 down 100-200rpm depending on how long I am stopped for.
    Any ideas or advice?

Seems to be constantly idling at 2000rpm now.  Just finished mucking around with the idle speed adjuster to lower the idle speed.  Hopefully it's nothing more that just having to do that.  Just funny how it all of a sudden jumped from 1500 to 2000rpm :icon_scratch:

I had the same problem exactly as you described.Played around with the idle and it would jump up again, in the end i played round with the mixture which fixed but a standard temp day is best.If you set it on a hot day it wont be quite the same on a cold day or vice versa.
If that doesn't fix it then Bob's theory would be the next step.

Great to hear.  Looking forward to seeing it in the flesh at next ride out.

After adjusting the idle speed back down closer to the 15-1600rpm mark and riding to and from work all seems okay for now!

could be weather related to nat if the air is dense and cool motors always run better and idel steady than when hot and humid
