fark man that blows. Dont even know what to say, I guess it just shows we have to try n be 1 step ahead of other road users but sometimes thats not even enough. Im not a fan of mums driving these urban assault vehicles, sooner they get them out of the hands of muppets who cant control them the better.Regardless of the circumstances, my heart really goes out to the family that just lost someone special to them. I just hope we all keep our wits about us on the rd and learn the lessons of folks like mad mik (mad bugger that he is ) who have experienced the worst there is and come through, a real testament to his character and use his expereince to apply to our life ridin the bike. Peace out boys, stay upright.

Talk about mums driving urban assualt vehicles! My bike was nearly another victim of one today. I pulled up to a Caltex servo..filling up with vortex. Just finished putting the tank cap back on when I notice the 4wd in front reversing straight towards me! I was off the bike so I didn't have time to hit the horn..and just yelled twice at the top of my voice...the 4wd was about 20 cms from hitting the bike!

About 30 seconds later when the driver actually realised there was something behind her..she puts her head out the window and says....'Sorrryy'.

    Geeezzzzzz..

dave, your an ideas man. Id be careful though of pulling a scam like that (no im not bein uptight trust me) but having worked at GIO,insurance comanies are realy quick to write ff bikes so even pissy things like people dropping their bike at the servo (as happened last week at work) the bike gets written off because the cost of a new fairing outweighs the ins co's value of the bike.So you might end up with no bike at all and only a poultry amount of cash as compensation. sucks dont it. Besides that, im all for insurance scams!! hahaha. just thought id give the low down

yeah man for sure, but if you want comprehensive forget abuot it, way to expensive at gio. I reckon thirrd part for you could be anywhere from 90 to 200 bucks. but il go to work n find out tommorow. Just lemme know what subrub you keep it in and the year of the bike. i should be able to make up the rest.

hehe, i had the same bloddy thing the other day, i parked my bike at an angle to the kerb, went into a bike shop and as i was walking out i seen this moronic indian dude getting into his shitty car. i started walking faster, had one of those 'gut fellings' that something wasn't right. he starts reversing, and keeps reversing coming straight for me and my bike. i shouted but he didn't hear me so i punched the crap out of his boot, (put a nice dent in it to ) he stopped, but was so close my leg was pinned between me and my bike.

he went to get out but i think he was a little put off by me politely asking him to get his farkin car off my leg, so he drove off.

as for 4WDs, people that drive them have to realise that when they do a head check instead of looking sideways, they have to look sideways and down. motorbikes aren't 6 foot high, therefore the soccer mum doesn't see us when she does her head checks.

been to a few crashes (none serious, one where the dude got a broken leg) where that was the cause.
