Well, this is going to be a bit of a writeup about my bike, since the day I bought it (well, before actually) :p

My mate 2 doors up told me he bought an old beat up road bike (read FZR250). The starter motor was seized, the battery was dead, the fairings had cracks and chunks missing, had an indicator smashed, and was looking a little ratty in general.

He bought it for $1200

A couple of weeks later, I say hey, how much you want for your roady? He said he didn't wanna sell it :p I'm like ****! So I kept pestering him about it. I offered him $1300 if he got the starter motor working :p

First 2 Days:
Anyways, I hand over my hard earned cash, and he went and fixed the starter motor that afternoon. The next day after work, I turn up at his place to pick up my new baby, as shitty as it was, I still loved it.

Second afternoon of me having it, I go get a new battery, stick it in, and all is well. Decided to go do some laps around a pair of trees in a small paddock across from where i lived. After doing a few, I decide to let my hosue mate have a couple of laps, knowing he's ridden a ZZR on the same patch of grass for a while beforehand (was quite a whlie ago now though). He does 2 laps, and doesn't slow down enough to come around one of the trees, so being noob as he is, locks up the back brakes whilst heading towards a whole heap of long grass and a fence, and lays the bike over onto it's left side.

He supermans over the handlebars into this long grass flat onto his back, and my gf and i say "ah for **** sake" and i jog over to him. here he is, laying flat on his back spread eagle, and my bike's next to him, where it had dug itself into the grass. Keep in mind the fairings weren't on at this time, so i wasn't too bothered about the bike. He says he can't move, and I see his leg roll, so I gathered he was alright as it was only grass and only about 15 km/h when he did it. So i pick up the bike and take it into my back yard to have a look at the damage.

The rail on the left hand side inside the front fairings up top had been bent in, that was quickly bent out again, and that re-aligned the windscreen. So it was only basic cosmetic damage, which didn't worry me too much. I cleaned the grass off it, and all is well again. Needless to sat he's not allowed on my bike anymore. Simply because he doesn't use the front brakes very much, and he needs to learn to use them. I onyl use the front brakes unless it's an emergency, where i use both, like last night, but I'll get to that.

-next part coming soon

You'll probably find your best off using a dirt bike for that sort of thing. Im pretty sure fzr's are ment for the road.

And using the front brakes in dirt is worse than using the back brakes.
