Not sure if this is just an Across standard anomaly, but mine has a complete dead-spot in the rev-range between 5 and 6000rpm. It's pretty bad. I actually lurch forward when it hit that range.

If this is ableto be remedied, where would I start? Run it leaner? i.e. raise the needles in the carbs a notch?

Could it be a jetting issue? or just carbies in need of a clean?

Needles or slide holders. Depends on the bike but mine at least ran better with the needle clip lowered to the 2nd position from the top.

Second slot from the top is the shiz. Dead-spot is far less noticeable, and the bike even has some pull left in top gear.

The older igniter unit is certainly a better proposition. While the bike would rev past 13k with the younger igniter unit, you really had to push it and wait to get up to 14k. Now you can take it to 15/16k without thinking you're pushing everything too far.

    Running very nicely indeed.

    cheers Desmo...
