Ok I dont think this has been done. But I am seriously thinking about giving it a go. The only thing I have found on the net about fitting efi to an inline 4 250 is here projectcbr250rri.blogspot.com/ . This project seems to ongoing and is near completion.
To simplify what I want to do is using a microsquirt ecu and sensors. I will make up a throttlebody using an old set of carbys (which I allready have) fit a fuel rail as well injectors. I have no dissalutions that this will be quick or easy job and I am sure it will be costley exercise by the time it is finished. But I believe if it works it will make the bike so much better than any of the new 250s out there now (not that it isnt allready).
I am wondering has anyone considered doing something like this on an inline 4 250?
    Regards Tomt.

I thought about it once but decided for all that work and all that money I would rather fit Carrillo rods and a Rotrex supercharger. But, kudos for taking it on and please keep us updated.
    cheers

    Hey Tom

Phil and I were talking about this today, Im sure it can be done, but it will take time ,patience, and plenty of $$$$. I would take a old cylinder head off an across and head to a wrecker and see if there are throttle bodies that would fit the Across head instead of using the Across carbs. You may need a spare bike as a test mule to get it sorted before you fit it to your bike.

Have a read of this thread, he is working on a GSF400 Bandit and the DNA is much closer to the across than the Honda link you posted

will watch your progress with great interest

That's a great build thread. I had seen it before but couldn't remember where.

Thanks Kiffsta for the information and the link. At this stage I just in the planning stages trying to figure out what the best way to attack it will be. The reason I thought useing a set of carbys as a throttle body is because Most of the work will be in filling needle holes and float bowles fitting the injectors and fuel rail. Once I go to fit them to the bike they should (in theory) fit straight up. The throttle linkages should fit staight on and I should even be able to use the stock air cleaner.
I have also thought about buying a complete efi system off a wrecked bike that could fit the Across. This would be ecu sensors and throttle body and make that fit. To get that to work though I would need to put an aftermarket piggyback controller on the ecu that would allow me to put custom maps in. I dont think one job will be any easier or cheaper than the other.
    Let me know your thoughts
    Tomt
